4.0 out of 5 stars LYRICAL DOPENESS, April 11, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
yo i think apathy is one of the best emcees out there in the underground. His battle lyrics and hype really make ya wanna go out and beat somebodys ass on tracks like "Mother Molesters" and Immortal or even Just Begun. I think more cats should recognize this dudes skill and take him seriously in the rap department. (...) so cop (...) believe me, youll find at least 20 classics if not more.

i don't really know why i'm writing this, cuz the cd is no longer in stock and is now only in the new and used section, but regardless, I had to state this double cd was one of the defining moments of my entire hip hop history... upon discovering one of the dopest emcees i have EVER had the grace of hearing, i was now exposed to the entire demigodz, army of the pharoahs collective, which I had previously been completely neglected to...

being in australia's hard sometimes on a hip hop fan...

regardless, this cd is MUST HAVE of the 2000's... buy it, steal it, burn it, dub it, or telepathically absorb it... just do whatever it takes!

peace,

4.0 out of 5 stars Rarities Released, October 5, 2004
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
I was tired of looking for hard to find Apathy songs with P2P software. Then they released this 2 disc set with most of his old, rare, b-sides, and guest featured songs. They're all remastered and sound good. Some were even redone like the 7L & Esoteric track, "Public Execution" now has Celph Titled on it and the production is cleaner. Apathy rips it with everything from punchlines to story telling. Definitly worth the buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Apathy, March 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Apathy has a choppy style but it makes it flow poetically with his choice of beats and samples. By far one of the best rappers Ive heard in a long time. I would compare him to emcee juice another underground rapper with a similar style.

I had never heard Apathy before, but this album definitely surprised me. Judging by the song titles (Get Off My Nuts, Mother Molesters) I wasn't sure what to expect, but what I heard was something similar to late 80's/early 90's groups like Das Efx. Lots of slow grooves with a variety of MC's, some scratching and lots of samples. Not every track's a gem, but with 45 very different tracks to choose from, you should find quite a few that would make this purchase worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars He Gets Down, January 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Dopest c.d. I've ever bought in my life. That pretty much says it all. Each track is nicer than any of that whackness you hear on the radio, 100 times over. Demigodz is the real.

5.0 out of 5 stars A-P-A-T-H-Y spells dope, May 14, 2006
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
'It's the Bootleg Muthaf*ckas! Volume one' is 2 CD's and 45 tracks in total, which is something in itself, but when you take into account that it's 45 tracks of pure fire, it's even more impressive. Apathy can spit, I mean can really spit and this CD showcases the many ways he can rip the mic. From battle raps and dope punchlines to stories, Ap demonstrates there's few that can mess with him, and some of the cats that can mess with him are on this CD. There's appearances from the likes of C-Rayz Walz, Wordsworth, Ap's partner in rhyme-Celph Titled and my favourite, Rise, who who steals practically every song he's featured on with some of the most creative and witty punchlines like: "In this rap game I'm nobody, why? Nobody's perfect". Throw into the mix borrowed beats from DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Eric Sermon and Havoc of Mobb Deep aswell as a load of original beats and you have yourself a must own joint from an undergroung legend.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Super-Lyrically, Great", February 6, 2012

This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Since I have heard this album Apathy's stock has now increased in my book. His songs "Don't Talk To Me", "School", "Earth Girls Are Easy",need I say more are straight classics. I love his delivery, flow, wordplay, and they way he uses oxymorons, similes, metaphors, and ironies. In my opinion Celph Titled, Majic Mos, C-Rayz-Walz,and whoever else I failed to mention that was on this particular album killed it, their rap skills are straight monster. I really love this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars This BOOTLEG's doper than most MUTHAFU*KAS albums!!, March 9, 2007
This review is from: It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
If you've read any of my other reviews you know I value skills in an mc more than anything and this cat has skills in abundance. As far as the title of the "new Eminem" that does him a disservice, he'd blow Eminem out the frame!! His battle raps are outta this world, his flow is perfection, his voice is captivating and his stories are hilarious. With the likes of Celph Titled(unbelieveably tight), Rise(wittiest punchlines EVER), Esoteric and the rest of the Demigodz he's also blessed with one of the best crews in the game right now. This 45 track set of freestyles and original tracks is superior to nearly 80% of every cd I have in my collection. You can literally compile your own seperate Apathy and Demigodz 14 track album and it would rival the best in your collections!! It would be too insane to go through each of the 45 tracks so I'll just sum up the best on each disc in my opinion. DISC 1: Tracks such as "Y'all Aint Good Enough", "Every Emcee", "That Ol'Boom Bap" (remix), "Science Of The Bumrush", "Compatible", "Sureshot Affair", "You Can Try", "Import Tuner", "Public Execution", "We Get Down" and "Battle Me" are ALL amazing examples of the purest hiphop Ive heard in years. Lyricswise+production are both consistently strong throughout the entire disc. DISC 2: Standouts on this disc are "Just Begun", "That Ol'Boom Bap", "Well, Well, Well...", "Aint Nuttin Nice", "School", "Speak Now", "No Joke", A Long Rhyme Coming", "The Big Hurt" and "Chrome Depot" are literally mind blowing. When you consider the fact that you can get this now at a fairly cheap price that just magnifies+enhances the value of this release. Run out and cop it a.s.a.p.
