This is a great book for those who have cats, or are thinking about having cats. Even if you have had cats in your family for years, there is something new in it for you. Written by a veterinarian, it is divided into questions and answers. You can read it straight through or jump to the sections you need most. I highly recommend it.

The book is informative and hilarious at the same time. Dr. Lee answers the basic questions and some that I never ever thought about asking including:

- Can I give my cat a breath mint?
- If I see string hanging from my cat's butt, should I pull it?
- Can I get herpes from my cat?

It's a fun and easy to read book book and is a great gift for cat lovers and their friends. I highly recommend it.

After many years of having dogs as my pet-companions, I now have a cat. I went to our local humane society, and adopted a 9 year old female cat. The challenge of owning a dog was just too much for me, as I have gotten older my physical ability has become limited. Our cat is delightful, but I would be at a loss without this book. This book is full of so much important information, and it also contains a good deal of humor. This lady is a veterinarian and an owner of 3 cats, so she knows what it is like, for a cat to live in a home, not just how they act when they visit a veterinarians office.
Well worth buying this book, and having it for a reference,and a bit of humor.

Dr. Lee's book was humorous, informative, and incredibly fun to read. There is something in there for everyone. The question/answer format makes it very easy to pick it up and look for something specific, but it's also incredibly easy to read it cover to cover (even if that's not your original intent). I highly recommend this book to anyone (even those without cats) as you will surely learn something interesting and have fun doing it.

This is a great book which is very informative and written in a casual conversation style. It's as though you are sitting down with a trained vet and picking their brain about your cat -- lobbing questions that you always seem to forget when you visit the doctor with your pet.

"Being that" (is that even proper english?) I am a dog person who is about to adopt his first cat, I finally purchased this particular book because the author left a good impression on me when she helped my extremely sick dog in the ER at U of MN. Talk about multi-talented....it's not surprising she wrote a book in her spare time since she was the fastest typist I've ever seen.

So the book is very funny as well as providing lots of useful insights into cat ownership. I would never have known that an orange tabby might be the perfect cat for me, and that proper disposal of used dental floss could be a life or death issue.

Apparently most cat owners are single women with untrained boyfriends, as a fair amount of the comedy was aimed at that population, but that didn't put me off at all and I at least cracked a smile at every humorous comment in the book.

Bottom line: I highly recommend this book, especially for people who are not already cat experts. Now I can't wait to adopt my new cat!

After reading Dr. Lee's "It's a Dog's Life ... but It's Your Carpet", I just had to get my hands on her sequel. I'm not even a cat person but I couldn't put the book down, because it was so engaging and hilarious, and now I think I could actually consider getting a cat one day! Would make for a great gift for any cat-lover or anyone thinking about getting a cat. Two thumbs way up!

This is a great and interesting read! I found it really informative, even for someone who has owned cats for a couple of decades. I like that the author is so qualified and owns 2 cats too! I am going to get a bunch for my friends as gifts.

If there's anything you want to know about cats, It's A Cat's World...You Just Live In It is the book to get. It has 224 questions and answers by Justine Lee, a veterinarian who has cats of her own. I liked how she throws in some humor into her answers and her love for cats come through. I loved her last sentence:

"We should all learn an important life lesson from our cats--take lots of catnaps, don't stress out, rule the roost, let someone else take care of you and pick up your crap, and be content with the simple things in life--a nap, a sunbeam, and a warm lap to love."

This is a great reference book and an enjoyable read for any cat lover!
