It's Dark and Hell is Hot is DMX at his best, before Swiss Beatz took over and DMX felt compelled to drop an album every 6 months. Every song on this album is brilliant and allows you to see in the twisted psyche of a very dark individual. Even songs like "Ruff Ryder's Anthem", "Crime Story", and "ATF" allow you to see the attitude behind this album, which was X was ready to go though whatever and whoever to get what was rightfully his (if you don't belive me, then just listen to "Stop Being Greedy.") This album is so honest and lamentful and songs like the absolutely brilliant "Convo" pull no punches. Definitely cop this album and listen to the great DMX before he turned pop.

THIS CD KICKS SO MUCH A**. BUY IT Y'ALL. DMX KEEPS THE ROOTS OF HARDCORE RAP REAL. WORD OUT.

This CD works out great for me since it has no curses. Great for certain parties & events where you don't want to here any bad language. So overall a great album. One of my favorites and nice and clean.

Keepin' it real is what DMX does! He takes you along on a ride thru the streets. Showing you how it goes down. Hit the streets with D and learn from the Top Dog! He puts the streets aside and concentrates on the inner struggle. The struggle between good and evil. He contemplates the spiritual side of life. People might hear gunshots and foul language, but try and see past all of that. Have you never been so angry that you curse and scream and if anyone were to hand you a weapon, you swear you would do something to someone!? Love, Hate, Joy, Pain. He tells it how he knows it! Don't judge a book by its cover! With 4 albums all gone to nr1, he has earned respect only few rappers have and this with not as many albums. But who's standing in the spotlight? Keepin' it real! No Doubt! Ruff Ryder to the core! Dark Man and Tupac! The 2 realest! Peace

I didn't know him I eard him on "24hrs to live" with Mase & LOX, "Money,Power,Respect" with LOX and Lil'Kim. But I hear in his voice something different than the other rappers. When a friend made me listen to "It's Dark and Hell It's Hot",that was it! I run to the store to buy it! This is one of the best album you might listen to in years. He's no 2pac but he shines his own way and the lyrics come from the bottom of his heart. When you listen to the album you'll feel like he lives to rap. Though some songs didn't appeal to my ears, over all you will not regret buying such CD. Buy it even it's for the hits like "Ruff Ryder's Anthem", "How's it going down" or my personal favorites like "The Convo", "I Can Feel it" and "Stop Being Greedy"

When X came out I felt him but i thought there was alot better out there. Then i started listening and i was like damn he is one of the best. ONE OF THE GREATEST ALL TIME.

well l like DMX very much he so fine and married and that's showing me that men in the music business can be true.That's what makes me listen to what he has to say and it is so true that's it.

"It's Dark and Hell is Hot" is easily one of the best albums I've listened to in recent memory. It's got tight, bumpin' beats with the slickest original lyrics out there. It deffinately gets 5 stars.

This cd was the best cd I ever heard and DMX looks so fine. I also like his new cd flesh of my flesh blood of my blood. That cd is going to drop just like this one. I love DMX. Keep on bumping.
