I would give this book 4 stars. I really liked the book, but at first it was a little hard for me to understand. This book was about a boy named Thomas and his bionic dog, Mcgrowl. Thomas and Mcgrowl were spying on the governer, Mell Munchnick. He was always acting strange. Thomas and Mcgrowl found out that Mes real name was Millie Smudge. He changed his name to Mell because when he was young, he was very bad. If everyone knew he was Millie Smudge, no one would vote for him.
I have read all 4 Mcgrowl books and I liked them all. You would really like the Mcgrowl series if you like exciting adventure.

The book I'm reading is interesting so far because I like dogs that are like Mcgrowl.This book has crime solving case that a boy named Thomas has some problems but some of these cases are funny when he does things wrong.My favorite part is the dog show because Mcgrowl doesn't race but chases a cat. I will enjoy reading the rest of the book.

is A very cute dog when you see him on the cover you wish you could pet him.His personality is really funny and cool.
Violet always gets left out a little bit.To me the mayor
is just kinda creepy even when he was nice the way they
decribed him was blaah.

Critical Review

Bob Balaban writes another great adventure and mystery book called McGrowl: A Dogs Life. This book is a sequel to a book that came before it called, Beware of Dog, that you might want to read, too. But, this second one is awesome. I read it in about a week and it was so good. McGrowl is a cross between adventure and mystery, but first here is some more information.
My name is Alexander Ross and I love dogs. This is mainly the reason I read this book. This book is about a young dog and his owner, a ten or eleven year old boy. The boy's name is Thomas Wiggins. He is trying to compete against some of his classmates in a dog show. But, some problems come up in the town before Thomas and McGrowl try to compete in the dog show. They are trying to figure out what the mysterious mayoral candidate is up to. But, you're not going to figure out the answer unless you read this book.
The strengths of this book are that it has great suspense that makes you want to keep reading and there is a lot of action. In my opinion, this book does not have any weaknesses. But, you can decide for yourself if you decide to read this book.
I would recommend this book because it has a lot of action and suspense, as I said before. I would recommend it to readers who like a book that is easy to read. Also, to all dog lovers, action lovers, and adventure lovers, this is your kind of story!

I am 11 years old i loved this book!!! I am doing it for a project and i just cant put it down! The book befor it i didnt read and i still love this one! I cant wait until the next one in the sieries!

If you like dogs I would recommend the book, McGrowl, Beware of Dog to read. There are two main characters in this book, Violet Schnayerson and Thomas Wiggins. Violet and Thomas find a dog and they take it to the vet for the night. They come back to get the dog in the morning. Thomas, whos father is scared of dogs, takes the dog home to his house. BEWARE of what happens next! If you want to know what happens next read this book.

This book takes place in a small neighborhood during the morning. The two kids don't know what there in for.

I love this book because I love dogs and adventures!

My daughter loves this series. We couldn't find the 2nd book anywhere but at amazon.com. It arrived quickly and in good shape. Thanks.

Mcgrowl: It's a Dog's Life is a great book! I have just finished reading it because I had an assinment in which i had to choose a book. This book is recommended for the ages of 9-12, but I think any age would enjoy this book! It's about a boy named Thomas, and his dog Mcgrowl. The town is about to vote for a mayor, and one of the canadates is very strange. He tunes out not to be such a good guy after all and he wants Mcgrowl to help him with something...........but i'm not going to spoil the ending to you so your going to have to read this book to find out! It is fiction/mystery and will leave you up at night not wanting to put it down! I really would rather do many things than read, but after reading this book it has changed. I am hoping to read the first one since I only had the seacond 1 and am curious about how the series starts. You have to be crazy if you don't like it.......but that is just my opinion! Hope this review was helpful!!!

I finished reading this book with my 9 year old son last night, and today I found my son re-reading parts of the book out loud to a friend -- now that's a first. What a fun and funny book! We like this McGrowl book even more than the previous one and we can't wait for the next book in this series. Enjoy!
