For what it is.....,

At least, the title is honest. There is no pretense that you will actually be a jazzer when done. But, actually, you may be closer with this book than with some of the corn-ball instructional material offered that promise to "get you playing jazz."
One addition, I suggest to the publisher would be to throw in a CD of the examples.

An overpriced joke,

Yes, if you copy the chords and licks in this book, you can sound like a jazz player... for about two minutes. As a joke, it's not that funny, and as a source of information on learning to play jazz, it's not very useful.

I love the approach of this book - it fits my sense of humor and it gives a great starting point.
