Have you ever read a book and as you are reading play out the movie in your mind? My motto is: if you cannot visualize in your mind in the first chapter or two what you are reading then the book is usually not worth going any futher.

As I started to read "Its Extraordinary My Dear Winifred" The movie played out in my mind and I couldn't stop till I finished the book. It you like a good sweet cozy type mystery then you cannot go wrong by picking up a copy of this book and giving it a read. Miss Mae has a knack for writing a mystery and playing it out, without letting it known almost at the beginning who the scoundrel is.

Miss Winifred Merryweather is a daughter of a of a London nototious villain . Keeping her identity a secret, she lives with her cat Theodore and attends a mystery reading group twice a month at the estate of Lord Nelson Chatham. Theres nothing like getting lost in a good mystery book and figuring out the clues, that is until one has to live it out in real time.

Kidnapped and finding herself in some strange home she had no idea what was going on, till she started meeting up with other members of her reading group and a newspaper reporter. Remington Hawthorn is not a member of the reading group so why was he kidnapped and thrown in with this assortment of mystery readers. There's a reason and Winifred knows, or does she???

Miss Mae grabs your attention from the very first page and the more you read the deeper the suspense becomes. As the characters try to figure out the clues you soon come to find out what they think is not what it is. There is not one character that is more popular then any other in the book, They all have their distinct personality and all play a part in the story line.

Wow, this is the most unique plot I can recall reading. How did Miss Winifred and her book club friends get to this old castle (and where is it, anyway)? Why are they there? But the big question is how to get OUT! I have only seen one Harry Potter movie, so maybe I shouldn't make a comparison, but I kept feeling like I was back in it :) Surprises around every corner, behind every door, and sometimes, right under your feet!

At the time I read this, I was tiring of the similar plots I kept reading and was way ready for something different. Well, this certainly filled the bill! I am eager for the other Dear Winifred books to make their appearance.

Miss Mae is one of my favourite authors, so I might sound a little biased when I say this is one for the 'keeper shelf'!

The intrigue and mystery grips the reader from page 1. Winifred and
Remington, the main characters have a chemistry which is palpably, while they struggle to solve the clues and reach the final solution.

At times eerie and positively scary, this book is one you will want to keep reading until the end. A delightful and thrilling read that lovers of Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie will revel in!

I can't wait for the next in the series!

Winifred Merryweather finds herself kidnapped and forced to confront a mysterious castle full of horrors. But she's not alone. Her one hope, the equally clever Remington Hawthorne, is a newspaper reporter who insists he's just as much a victim in this theatrical adventure.

You know how every now and then you come across one of those great reads that gets you excited? I had no idea what to expect when I started Miss Mae's new release which she graciously awarded me in a guest blog contest. I have one word for the author: Wow.

Dear Winifred is a horseless carriage from page one. My head was spinning by the third chapter and I couldn't stop. Talk about a Victorian fun house: revolving rooms, trick mirrors, and trapdoors, with a cast of characters cleverly plopped onto your Adventure Sundae scoop by scoop.

Miss Mae, I'm so impressed. You do everything right. The premise is exuberantly original and the plot is so well unwound, I stand amazed. I rarely muse on sequels but I must insist you carry on the good work. I can't wait to see what you can cook up for Winifred and her new beau.

If you want mystery, adventure and sweet romance this novel is for you. It's Extraordinary, My Dear Winifred by Miss Mae is a well crafted story that keeps you turning the pages. In many books we want to lay a book down at the end of a chapter and pick it up later. Not so here. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger so you must go on.
Her descriptive prose and catchy dialogue fleshes out Winifred and her friends, rooting us in the Sherlock Holmes era. Having five people besides Winifred presents a formidable task to develop that many characters but Miss Mae does it quite well. You will be delighted to find your way through the confusing and dangerous maze of tunnels, caverns and rooms with Winifred and her friends. You will gain a great respect for Winifred as she solves the puzles and, with Remington's help, watches out for the safety of her reading club friends.
This is the third novel I've read by Miss Mae and as with the others I highly recommend this novel.
