Grade 7-10-The three LBDs (Les Bambinos Dangereuses) want to attend the Astlebury Music Festival but, alas, are forbidden to go. Ronnie, Fleur, and Claudette have hit a wall and their parents refuse to budge, so it's no music, no partying, and, most of all, no "million totally lush festival-going boys." The three 14-year-olds devise a plan, though-they will stage their own music festival as part of the school's Summer Garden Party-but the project details prove much more difficult than they anticipated. Complicating matters are boyfriend lust, a school principal, temperamental artists, and, of course, parents. The characters are well drawn and appealing with their typical teenage foibles, and the plot, which moves at a steady pace, is a nice mix of humor and seriousness. Dent's first novel is a delightful read and easily makes the transition from England to America. Fans of Louise Rennison's Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging (HarperCollins, 2000) and Ann Brashares's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Delacorte, 2001) will welcome this book.

Gr. 7-9. LBD (Les Bambinos Dangereuse) are gorgeous Fleur, smart Claude, and everygirl Ronnie, who narrates the story. Together they make things happen, including a music festival at their school. It's their idea; they organize it from beginning to end, and, fortunately, their job includes finding cute boy bands to participate. Kids who have read Louise Rennison's books will find Ronnie's voice almost identical to that of Georgia Nicolson, right down to the "snogging." And though Ronnie may not be writing in a diary, her depiction of teen life in England hits all the same notes: the boys; the parents (with the twist that her mother is keeping a secret about being pregnant); the slang-filled, sharp-eyed take at the events swirling around her. Grace Dent is undeniably one of the hottest names in teen fiction right now. Put simply: no other author nails how young people REALLY speak and behave like Grace Dent. Grace is a comedy writer and broadcaster specialising in all aspects of 'Pop Culture'. She is a presenter on The Culture Show on BBC2 and has recently interviewed Mitchell and Webb and the cast of Gavin and Stacey. Well, this book is really great. When I first saw it and I thought this is gonna be some cheesy highschool romance novel that is gonna stink. But boy was I wrong, I finished this book in 2 days(if you know me then, it has to be an awesome book if I can finish it that quick)! It's a book about three girls conquering boys,highschool,and one of the school's bullys. Fleur,Ronnie,Claude make wonderful plans for a school concert and the book is about all the laughs(and ok some crys) about it. I don't want to give to much away, because if I do then you might not read it, but you should cause it's awesome as I have said before.

LBD it's a girl thing is a funny and witty book about the life of three teenage girls: Fleur, Claudia, and Ronnie. In the story the girls desperately want to go to the Astlebury music festival, but their parents won't let them. Claudia comes up with the idea to have their own music festival at their school. The girls face a few problems along the way like: Ronnie's parents' separation and Panama and her band, the girls' enemies are the headline act in the festival. After a few bumps everything works out and the festival is a great sucess. Ronnie gets the boy she has a major crush on and her parents get back together. She also has a new sibling on the way. As an added surprise, Superstar Mike Saunders comes to the festival and sings a few songs for the perfect ending. I think that the book was a tad bit boring and the plot was weak. I also thought that it was very humorous and realistic when it comes to how teenage girls act these days.

I read alot of teenage books if you would like to call it that
i loved this book by far any of the other books i've read its a great read its funny and witty and will keep you guessing great for anyone who loves a great read
