Bonnie Tyler is one of my favorite female singers. This cd captures most of her best songs. Highly recommended.

Great nostalgia album. My daughter loves listening to her, too. Most of these songs I'd never heard. We like it!

This CD only gets one star due to the quality of recording and has nothing to do with Bonnie Tyler or the song selections. I have all these songs on albums but some songs had minor occasional background noises that are very hard to remove after recording to hard drive. Thought I would replace them with ones from this CD but the sound quality is so poor that I prefer to listen to the album version even with the flaws. I am not an audio expert so I can't say what is wrong with this CD but it seems like it was tweaked to soften her voice some then recorded at too high a volume so the songs missing something. I suppose that description does not help much but if you really want to hear the true Bonnie Tyler don't waste your money on this.

Many, many, many years ago I heard "It's A Heartache" on the radio & really felt drawn to it. I wasn't sure who the singer was, and had a lot of other things going & the time--but I remembered that song. I followed wrong leads (for I while I thought the singer was Melisa Etheridge). Finally with Amazon's wider slection I discovered all. I ordered this 2-CD series basically just to hear that one song again (I can't do MP3 because of where we live, we can't even preview music, let alone CDs.) Since I really didn't know Bonnie Tyler I was expecting to like just "It's A Heartache," but I like every song on both CDs & think they are timeless. She's been compared to Janis Joplin. There is a sort of gutsy style they have in common, But Tyler's delivery is much more vulnerable & has a wider range. Janis (whom I met twice) was pretty much all about her, her inner torment, Bonnie is more about the relationship. Where Janis was "look at me, look at the depths my suffering (which obviously worked for her--up to a point); Bonnie is like "look at you & me, look at the hurt for both of us." I don't know if I'm explaining it very well. I enjoy both singers & their material. The back up is fantastic too, from hard driven to strangely classical on "Piece of My Heart." The quality of the sound is the best. Bonnie Tyler has just a lttle bit of 60's "Torch Singer" Cleo Lane (for people who know who she is.) I must have played "It's A Heartache" about 20 times & have listened to both CDs quite a few times the first couple a days. It's a Heartache" is a great song to sing along with--as are many of the other songs, like "A Whiter Shade of Pale." Obviously I've become a fan.
