5.0 out of 5 stars Wedding book for mom's of brides., March 8, 2006
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
This book is the best! Leslie Milk is clever, funny and extremely informative. I not only learned more from this book than the more formal bridal book I purchased but had some good laughs too. She makes such sense and covers everything you need to know. Actually my daughter read it, my husband read it after hearing my many references to it, and I ended up ordering more copies to give as gifts. This is a must have book for mom's of brides and actually brides too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantasic: For both mothers, January 4, 2006
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
I orginally bought this book for my mother (bride's mother) but it was just so cute and clever that I purchased it for the Groom's mother. For Brides: It imforms your mothers of their role without hurting their feelings. My mom read it in 2 days and she said she really connected with it and her role in my wedding. But in a nice, none confrontational way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Take a sentimental journey and share a few laughs, March 23, 2005
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
This book is for any mother of a bride, past, present or future. Somewhere, in this diary of sorts, you will find a similar connection with author Leslie Milk's own experience with her daughter's wedding from engagement to reception party. She also writes other mother-of- the bride stories along with tips and suggestions to switch to plan B when Plan A doesn't seem to be working. The reality checks at the end of each short chapter could have been omitted as they just didn't tickle this reviewers funny bone. Makes a nice gift for any mother or surrogate mother of the bride.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for every bride and her mother!, January 24, 2005

This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
This book is full of wonderful advice and humor (to lighten this potentially stressful time). Leslie Milk has excellent guidelines along with real life stories to help brides and their mothers (and anyone who has to live with them) survive their wedding (and may be even with a smile!). Every bride should buy this book for herself and her mother!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud cute, January 24, 2007
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
When our daughter made me a first-time MOB this Christmas, she presented me with this book. While I enjoy good humor, only the James Harriot books (All Creatures Great and Small etc) had actually made me laugh out loud. Many passages in this book have had me laughing so hard I have literally cried. In addition, our execution of the Mother-Daughter Pre-Nup has saved me from unmitigated grief with my daughter about the dinner entres (among other things) at the venue she and her fiance have chosen which features nouvelle northern Italian cuisine. We're talking date sauce over pork chops and lemon zested brussel sprouts and leg of lamb with garbanzo beans here folks.

Amid a great deal of humor Leslie Milk dispenses pithy nuggets of great advice. This book would be a welcome volume especially for MOBs who have or need a sense of humor. MOGs would enjoy it too.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To, September 22, 2005
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
What a fun book -- great topics and stories for the "mother-of-the-bride". Bought the book for a friend and enjoyed reading through it. Now I am planning on giving it as a gift to several friends who soon will be a "mother-of-the-bride.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
I loved this humorous, warm and loving book. It gave me insight to what I could expect, and it was always right on! The writing was sweet without being "sappy" and the advice was sage. If you are a Mother of the Bride, you will need this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for both the Mother-of-the-Bride and the Bride, August 12, 2009
By
This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
Stressed out about an upcoming wedding?
So was I, and so I headed to the library and checked out an arm full
of wedding books. This one was the best. It is warm, humorous, and
comprehensive, covering the ceremony, reception, invitations, music,
catering, photography, attire, and more. She misses nothing and infuses it with her experience as well as her research. My first chuckle came when I read the Wedding Pre-Nuptial agreement between the Bride and the Mother-of-the Bride in the first chapter. When I had to return it to the library I ordered it and gave it to my daughter for her bridal shower.

This review is from: It's Her Wedding But I'll Cry If I Want To: A Survival Guide for the Mother of the Bride (Hardcover)
I purchased this book for my mom shortly after we were engaged. It was the perfect gift to show my appreciate for all of her love and support as we plan for our special day. Sometimes my mom can go alittle crazy with the wedding planing and this book helps guide her in the right direction. I highly recommend this book to other newly engaged couples:)
