The frist time I listen to this album I was with my best friend the late Robert Williams and I listen to this song:( IT'IN MY HEART) and that song was one of the most touching song I ever listen to an I said to my friend Harvey is bless.Also,I this is one of the best album and will be the best in time to come but I pray to god that ever round get higher&higher so when times get rough don't stop just push: Pray Until Something Happen.Finally in tribute to my friend I would like to see many more album with PUAL PORTIS in them thank you and may god continue to bless

This CD is highly anointed of GOD. Harvey Watkins, Jr. is an instrument being used by the Master. Unlike many quartets/groups, the purpose of this man is to minister to the souls of those who need a word--it isn't about a "show." Though he didn't include the Canton Spirituals on this CD, it is awesome! He colaborates with Doug/Melvin Williams, Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson, and others. If you dislike quartet music, purchase this! You'll change your mind!!!! You will be blessed!!! The CD makes a wonderful gift, especially for someone going through!

Since his glorious Canton Spirituals' days, Harvey Watkins, Jr. has finally ventured out and brought his wide musical vision over to a new arena of fans in quartet gospel music. He has blended a mix of R&B-style balladry, some solid mid-tempo grooves, and some effective jazz musicality all while still possessing the traditional quartet vibe. Every song ministers to me in a unique way on this album, which is almost unheard of for most traditional quartet albums. The title track, "It's In My Heart," has wonderful production built around it beginning with beautifully-produced piano riffs from musical directors Wallace Strickland & Derrick Lee, some heavy guitar accompaniment from Ray Marshall & "Spanky," and finished with some heavy testimonies from guests Melvin Williams & Doug Williams (The Williams Brothers) and Paul Porter. There's also a banging studio version of this song that sounds like your typical R&B/Soul classic. (R. Kelly-esque production! lol!) Great versatility on everyone's part. Other selections include the bouncy, "Be Careful," "We Need Your Help," "Grateful," and the traditional-style, "Everything I Need," featuring Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson (another one of our beloved mixed-style quartet singers). Though Watkins' lead vocals in this record are kept in the pocket and become almost unnoticed on most of the songs, this album is powered by many guest performances from quartet gospel's elite and some diverse musical material, including highly-effective backing vocals from the upcoming quartets Integrity and Purpose. I think Harvey Watkins, Jr. thrives at his highest potential when he is by himself rather than that of the Canton Spirituals' albums, even though they were really successful. He wrote most of the material on this and previous records and has given other fans a chance to listen to what the other side of quartet music sounds and looks like. This is definitely the new breed of quartet music and I will be looking forward to hearing another Harvey Watkins' classic soon.

This CD is very moving. I listen to it while riding in the car. There is a real message in the songs on this CD. I have been truly blessed by this music and praise God while listening to it.

harvey has really did it up this time on this cd god has surly gotten the glory the boy is awsome anyone that do not have this one stop take time to go and get it a mega mass explosion of gospel lifting you straight off your feet taking you to a higher level of works i must admit its a great hit and keep up the good work god loves you and god bless you amen

I enjoy all the song on this cd. It have not been not one of the music that was make by the Harvey and Canton Spiritual Singer that I did not like. I enjoy all the songs and they have a spiritual blessing meaning to them. Keep up the good work for the Lord. That is our Train Fare Home to be with the Lord.

I bought this cd last week and been playing it over and over again. My favorite song on this cd is the title track(It's in my Heart)If you are a Canton Spiritual, Lee Williams, The Williams Brothers, Keith Wonderboy Johnson and The Christianaires fan u need this cd. Mississippi Got it Goin on!!!

I got this cd on the release date and i have to tell you it is a FOOT STOMPIN(TRACK 8 WITH HIM AND WONDERBOY JOHNSON)GIVING GOD THE PRAISE(TRACK 4 WITH DOUG AND MELVIN) NOT TO MENTION PAUL PORTER AS WELL ALL I CAN SAY IS HARVEY HAS DONE IT AGAIN GOD BLESS YOU AND THE CANTONS OF MISSIPPI

Great intro! Harvey takes full control. Some songs seem to be drawn out. I will admit there are only 3 songs that I think will have the potential to go all the way. Harvey does a jazzy job on the song American The Beautiful. I wish Harvey could have included his own group on the album.
