If you've seen It's My Party, you'll remember the piano music in heartwrenching moments of the film. The music is solemn, tender, and haunting. Olivia Newton-John's "Don't Cut Me Down" is a soft, pleading song that captures the essence of the film and the hardships of living in an age of AIDS. With music that is both somber and, at times, uplifting, the piano, in its solitude on many of the songs, lets you feel comfortably alone, yet exhilaratingly meditative.

The movie is excellant and the music just goes so well with the movie. olivia does a good song too at the end. recommended

The music is beautiful on this CD. The ending song by Olivia Newton John is very emotional. If you have seen the movie, you will remember each scene, as the music is titled to go with the scene. Even if you haven't seen the movie you will appreciate the wonderful music. A winner.

This is a great score played on solo piano by the late/great master Basil Poledouris. There is great emotion contained in this music that will easily touch your heart if you let it. The unique thing about this score to me is that I've never seen the movie, and don't plan to due to it's subject matter, so I don't have any imagery to associate with it. The music was recorded with Poledouris alone in the studio so it is quite a change of pace from his huge orchestral scores like Conan and Starship Troopers. I think the music is extremely powerful, yet simple. It is amazing what you can do with just a piano.

What a moving and sad but wonderful movie. I love piano music. However I agree with the first person that left feedback on this album. It was missing the uplifting music that also played a very important roll in this film. There for it gets four stars. If you love piano music like I do you will love to sit down and reflect to this beautiful music. Dont forget to give thanks for all the things you appriciate in this ever changing world we live. One of the higlight's of this film was hearing the underrated Milla Jovovich sing "It's Your Life," which originally appeared on her first debut album. The song fits beautifully with the film, but is omitted here. I like Olivia's song, but it holds no candle to Milla.
