Calling a spade a spade,
By
This review is from: It's My Story & I'm Stuck To It (Paperback)
In Daniel K. Segal's book "It's My Story & I'm Stuck To It" he describes his life and calls a spade a spade. I loved all the life lessons and pearls of wisdom he put after each life section. He has lead quite a varied life from helping collect treasures out of the trash as a child to working in the adult night club business. He's even been in a gun fight which thankfully he survived. I loved this book it told his life story with life lessons along the way. He also expresses his ideas on fixing the economy, taxation, immigration and more. Give this book a read, I'm sure you'll love it too!

7 of 9 Lives: Lived, Learned, Loved ~ Moved On!,

This review is from: It's My Story & I'm Stuck To It (Paperback)
Take a walk down memory lane in this comical tale of one person's life story and the pitfalls along the way. Author Daniel K. Segall likens his journey to that of a cat...going through life one "life" at a time, and trying to keep the lessons learned along the way. Thus far he envisions 7 of his 9 are used up, but the ways in which this happened make for a great read. From his start as a "gentlemen's club" bouncer, to his promotion to owner, to his managing a telecommunications sales region, he allows a no holds bar look at the good, the bad, and the messy. One wonderful highlight is in `Life #4' where he details a trip to Jamaica to reconnect with his wife. Sounds great, huh? Hours into their trip the drama begins....a car accident, a hospital with less than standard facilities....ending with an early return home with the promise of a halo contraption for his head or permanent paralysis!
Filled with the all the thrills life has to offer and followed up with food for thought on topics of interest to the author, this book makes for an exciting and interesting adventure. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to reevaluate their own life struggles or to anyone who just needs a laugh.

Honest Ideas, Interesting book!,

This review is from: It's My Story & I'm Stuck To It (Paperback)
I love a man who is honest and not afraid to say what he thinks, Daniel K. Segall tells his thoughts openly and honestly. The title immediately drew me in, out of curiosity, "just what is his story." I eagerly read through this book and while I agreed with many of his ideas, I was still intrigued by the ones that I didn't agree with. Segall is a very good writer and is very sure of his ideas and positions, even about garbage. The author starts out with his uncertainty about his life, a feeling of wanting more. I think anyone can relate to that, but he shares so much more than just a man going through a mid life crisis. His book will cause the reader to think and form opinions; it is never boring. I am glad that I read this book!

What can I say??? I loved this book. I was immediately intrigued when I read the description on Amazon that says that the author's views on life and the life situations are a little controversial.
Author Segall also got me hooked with the title of this book - which was clever and perfect for this type of book. Segall details for us his life story - starting with his fascination with all things garbage - which I thought was funny, but also a very interesting way to open a book. He goes on to tells us about his life adventures and it is obvious by his growing unhappiness that he was searching for something 'more'. What I liked most about this 'memoir' is that Segall does not shy away from telling it like he sees it, the good and the bad and he seems to be okay with it all. Basically, he is saying - this is me! I know that I seem pretty weird at times, but this IS who I am. The writing is down to earth and easy to read and I thougth each chapter (along with a brief resume of the life lesson learned in each episode) was fun and refreshing. I recommmend this book.

This book is kind of like........ a sneak attack! You think it's about this guys life, and you're going along...... and then WHAM! out of no where, it's all about ways to fix problems in this country ranging from the political system, to public restrooms! I have to say, living in Florida myself, I think the solar hurricane shutters are a fabulous idea! The author has definitely had an interesting life thus far, and should put some of his ideas to work! I agree w/ his friends, he should run for office!
