It's Quite Funny (AKA The Terrorists Hate Our Freedom),

This review is from: It's Not Funny (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD about a month and a half ago with an extensive, albeit Mr. Show inspired knowledge of David Cross' comedy. I'd seen a couple of comedy specials he'd done for HBO, so I sorta expected him to do a couple of skits and what-not. Man was I blown away when I heard this CD. This guy is hi-larious. His comments on politics, the war, religion and other socially relevant topics are not only remarkably prescient, but hysterically made. He skewers the right and Bush for their homophobia, hypocrisy and hatred. His rendition of Trent Lott going on BET is hysterical. If you buy any comedy CD this year, this is the one.

Research before you complain!,

I bought this CD in Boulder CO and listened to it on my way back home... and it was hilarious. Absolutely hilarious...For the people who have decided to write negative reviews and bash this cd, I respect your opinions, EXCEPT THAT MANY OF YOU ADMIT TO NEVER HAVING LISTENED TO THE CD! How does one complain before you know what you're complaining about? Additionally, I also cannot stand the complaints about him getting 'off God's path' because he is an Atheist. There is no grand joyous design to him, and furthermore, he was born Jewish. So exactly what would be wrong with Jesus bashing even if he was still religious? I rest my case. This is a fine follow up to his earlier album, and I'm sure there are many more hilarious ones to follow.

Great cd, even greater reviews!!,

Being a huge David Cross fan, I thoroughly enjoyed his cd, which is hilariously insightful, and sometimes just plain hilarious. But I also really enjoyed reading some of the reviews posted on Amazon.com, which keep up with the spirit that is David Cross' comedic style. If you're at all familiar with David Cross' approach to comedy, it should be OBVIOUS that reviews such as "David Cross will burn in Hell!! , "Where does David Cross get off", and "Big Christian Big Fan" (among others) were written in sarcastic jest by huge David Cross fans. As I read these reviews, I laughed so hard I cried. Yet some people have apparently missed the point, notably "mayostard", who took offense to a reviewer's claim that Pres. Bush would never lie...even though it was obviously sarcastic (said reviewer wrote that he/she was from "The Great Progressive State of Mississippi" a direct QUOTE from David Cross' cd!) I could undesrtand some people not "getting it" if they are unacquainted with David Cross, but to claim that you're a fan, and STILL not get that "So, David Cross thinks it's funny to make fun of religion, and our President, one of the smartest, most intelligentest, best smelling presidents we've ever had " is sarcastic (come on!!! best smelling!!!)is just dumb. So, kudos to all you comedian reviewers. You're what make being a Cross fan so much fun. And to anyone who took what they said seriously: listen to David Cross' cd about 10 times, watch all episodes of Mr Show, and THEN reread the reviews. If you still don't get it, well, may you be forced to listen to Creed cds for all eternity while watching The Simple Life.
