This is a powerful book about never giving up. It's a wonderful motivational tool for anyone out there who is struggling to succeed. Les Brown makes many references to his mammy-the wonderful person who loved him and raised him. This book is both inspiring and motivating as it instructs people on how to reach out and achieve the things in life that they want to. I was very impressed by this book-and recommended it to several of my business associates. Together we have listened to it on tape and also have put together plans to achieve our goals. Les Brown has given hope to many. I am particularly impressed with the way he outlines the problems with human nature-and instructs you, the reader, how to solve and create your own dream. Superb book...Thank you Les Brown.

Mr. Brown is clearly talented and has some wonderful things to say. Unfortunately, this audio tape is touted (and labeled) "How to Become the Person You Always Wanted to Be - No Matter What the Obstacle" but should have been called "A Compendium of My Life" or "How I Survived the Cancellation of My Syndicated Show Without Sour Grapes." In the part I listened to before I discovered the defect in the tape (about 2/3) the tape amounted to about 80% autobiography and 20% directly related to the title and the representation on the packaging. Brown is easy and fun to listen to (if your copy doesn't go bonkers like mine did) but don't expect him to reveal sufficient wisdom about recovering from life's low spots. The gems he shares are quite good but they become hidden within his lifetime problems and there is little there to tie them together, in the part I could hear.

This and Les Brown's other book are motivational "bibles". Brown talks about his failures and his mistakes in a storytelling format to prepare the reader how to face adversity.

Even though Brown has different upbringing and background than me, I still could relate. These books have motivated me to go after my dream, to not be embarrassed about it and to work hard for it. Thank you Mr. Brown!

Mr. Brown drives home the point of overcoming obstacles! This book is truly an inspiration and his words make it plain and simple for anyone looking to take their lives to the next level. It should be required reading in Universities across the country as a rite of passage!

Life can be so challenging, it feels great to see we are not alone and we can go for the best. This audio book will open your eyes on what is available to you. You just have to listen to it often!

I just saw Les Brown live in person at a company sales meeting. He is a great speaker who deliver a dynamic and powerful message. His advice can be applied to all aspects of life. Seeing and hearing his message in person is a phenomenal experience, but if you can't do that I would recommend purchasing this product.

I would recommend this book because it has some very motivational material, that can be applied to all aspects of life. One quote that I especially liked from the book, "You have to have faith that you are part of the plan, and that life will hyield to you if you are persistent and courageous."

For two days in a row, I had the privileged to be at a seminar given by Les Brown at Jesus House DC. After listening to him, I purchased most of material including this book. Reading the material simply brings him back live to my mind. It is as if he was right there next to you talking to you; showing how and why you CAN DO THIS! You have potential. You can make it; here is how. Then he explains the steps to achieve your greatness. This book is a must to any one who wants to make it to the top. My heartfelt Gratitude to both Les Brown and Pastor Ghandi of Jesus House DC for exposing us to such priceless and tremendous knowledge.

To hear Les Brown on stage was and still is a great moment in my life. His fire inspires you to do what it takes to make it happen. I purchased several copies of this book at the conference as gifts to my love ones.

I have fallen in love with the energy that Les Brown delivers in his speeches. He puts heartfelt advice plain and simple without dancing around his meaning. I prefer his live talks because they demonstrate more of his personality and I think that's what I really relate to but I've listened to both of these discs several times since I've purchased them and look forward to buying more!
