5.0 out of 5 stars Whitney + Thunderpuss = DA BOMB!!
The Thunderpuss remixes of "It's Not Right But It's Okay" are true classics and put the boys of Thunderpuss (Barry Harris & Chris Cox) on the map of US remixers. These remixes gives the song some extra energy and yes - they got a lot of airplay and seemed to be even more popular than the original itself. Whitney too must have loved them since she re-did the music video...

2.0 out of 5 stars Whitney's latest single is hopefully the worst on her CD
I don't know but when I think of Whitney I think of the lovely "Bodyguard Soundtrack", the nice 80's and first half of the 90's songs. But this song is (in my opinion) so unimaginative. Always the same and so boring. And the video is ridiulous, too. She's certainly done much better songs, this one is very modest.

Whitney too must have loved them since she re-did the music video using the Thunderpuss Radio Mix. This new version got a lot of airplay on MTV and VH1 so it broadened its fields which was really cool. The Club 69 remixes are really awesome, they give the song a cool club touch, reminds me a lot of club artist from the 90's like Loveland, M People and Rozalla to mention some. Peter Rauhofer can be proud of himself. Haven't heard the Rodney Jerkins mixes, but the smashing bonus one, the KILLER club remix by the king of remixing HEX HECTOR - the spectacular remix of "I Will Always Love You" just took my breath away the first time I heard this new, fresh remix of Whitney's classic. Even my mum loved it! Buy this single now, you'll not regret it! An essential single in your Whitney collection or in any pop/dance music collection for that matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why you MUST have this single!, August 28, 2002

A few brief comments before getting down to business... Rodney Jerkins remixes: Who cares? They're horrible. Club 69 Remix: It's one of their best efforts, but still pales in comparison to the Thunderpuss mix, which stole the show and has become a dance classic. But this is what I came here to tell you, so please read carefully: The bonus track, "I Will Always Love You" (Hex Hector Remix) is unquestionably the most incredible piece of music I have ever heard in my entire life! If you have a spine, it will shiver! The original ballad put me to sleep. It wasn't until I heard this electrifying remix that I truly understood the hype about Whitney Houston's vocals. God, what awesome power! Hex Hector's crowning achievement (though few know it!) is this remix, which brings out the knock-you-down raw energy of this track. It is an undying testiment to the fact that a dance remix can take an otherwise forgetable song and turn it into an unforgettable experience. W.O.W!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow ... The Old Whitney!, May 15, 2005
This review is from: It's Not Right But It's Ok / I'll Always Love (Audio CD)
Such beauty and talent but so little brains ... this single is a fantastic song that only a Whitney Houston voice could carry! She needs to revive her career, dump Bobby and put out more songs like this one. Get off the crack Whitney! You have too much talent to fold and fall by the waistside! We need you to rescue us from Beyonce, Amerie, Ciara and all the other mediocre talent out there!

The Thunderpuss remix of "It's Not Right, But It's Okay" saturated the airwaves a few years ago, helping to make this a top five song for Whitney Houston. The club mix topped the Dance charts for three weeks and is still played all the time at clubs worldwide. The hidden gem is a rare and pretty good remix of "I Will Always Love You" from Hex Hector. A must have for every fan of Dance music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hex Hector & Club 69 on the same cd?? How can you go wrong?, July 25, 1999
This review is from: It's Not Right But It's Ok / I'll Always Love (Audio CD)
Arista smartly releases "It's Not Right But It's Okay" as a single after the club success of the promotional copies, and the radio success off of the "Heartbreak Hotel" maxi. Included on this disc are the Thunderpuss 2000 mixes (which shot to number one on Billboard's Club Play Chart - and are also available on the "Heartbreak Hotel" maxi), The Rodney Jerkins remix (a slow groover that doesn't stray too far from the original) and the Club 69 remixes (which were previously only available on the UK pressing of the single). Also as a bonus cut, you get Hex Hector's incredible remix of Whitney's 1992 smash "I Will Always Love You". Now if you remember the dance cover of this song from 1992 by Sarah Washington, you might be thinking "ICK - keep me away from any dance version of that song" - but this remix is killer! God I love Hex Hector. This man has yet to disappoint me. Definately worth purchasing.

4.0 out of 5 stars her name is not Susan, September 15, 2008
This review is from: It's Not Right But It's Ok / I'll Always Love (Audio CD)
This is one of Whitney's best singles in years.

As a longtime Whitney Houston fan for more than 20 years I am so excited that she is finally starting to regain her sanity and clean up her act. Over the last 10 years Whitney's catalog has gone from fantastic to mediocre in an eye's blink. There really aren't too many songs from this era that many longtime fans (myself included) enjoy.

"It's Not Right, But It's Okay" is the exception. It sounds like one of her older hits because her voice is so beautiful and strong and everlasting. The lyrics are also noteworthy because this is one of the first times that Whitney has chosen to write about her former relationship. This is also an excellent dance CD or a party CD. The mixes have a very fast beat that almost have at timeless quality, making them sound new and fresh and exciting.

Unlike some people, I will not sit in judgement of Whitney. She knows exactly what she is doing and like I said at the top of my review she is back in control. Her marriage wasn't a mistake. She has a beautiful daughter and Whitney stood by her man for 15 years which is eons longer than many marriages last in this disposable reality world that we currently muddle through.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whitney's Independent Woman song., October 24, 2002
By
This review is from: It's Not Right But It's Ok / I'll Always Love (Audio CD)
The woman finding strength in putting her man to the curb is nothing new ----try old country music and classic R&B for fine examples. But with "It's Not Right But It's Okay" the remixes really put this song into orbit. The Thunderpuss Mixes are what made this song gel and it just seems better with each listen . These mixes were put on to the "Heartbreak Hotel " cd single along with the somewhat okay mixes by Johnny Vicious. This cd now features Club 69 mastermind Peter Rauhofer doing quite a good job as well. The real find is the over the top mixes for "I Will Always Love You" by Hex Hector. They are right up there with some of his best mixes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whitney - Remixed by Thunderpuss, June 23, 2002
By
This review is from: It's Not Right But It's Ok / I'll Always Love (Audio CD)
If you think Whitney can only sing big ballads, then you obviously haven't heard the dynamite remix of the Rodney Jerkins-produced single "It's Not Right, but It's Okay" by Thunderpuss (Chris Cox and Barry Harris). Here is the remix that would put Whitney on the map on club America and would introduce the world to Thunderpuss, one of the most sought-after remixers today. The boys give the song the energetic, danceable groove Whitney's voice demands, and the end result will leave you amazed. For 1998 and 1999, it was impossible to go clubbing without hearing this remix. I'd dare say it's more popular than the original version itself! People, this mix is smokin'! Don't miss! Treat yourself to one of the most vital club jams of the 1990s.
