The music from this show is wonderful! I purchased the product in hopes to get one of the songs I could potentially perform, when I got the book, it was missing 2 or 3 of the songs I wanted, and had to go to musicnotes.com and other sources to get the songs I originally wanted.

Is John Bucchino our next Stephen Sondheim?,

This review is from: It's Only Life (Paperback)
Perhaps it is not fair for me to review a book I haven't yet read, but I have listened to the music and lyrics of John Bucchino for quite a few years, and the CD of the songs from this production had me by the ear and the heart from the very first listen. If the play (this book) is HALF as good as the Album from the show, this is destined to be part of the musical history of the American theater. I have reason to believe it will be every bit as riveting as the music, which is superb. For another amazing sampling of Bucchino's music, check out the dazzling songs on "Grateful," his debut album on a major label. If you love music that will make you laugh, and in the next song, bring you to tears, don't miss it. And get it now. He's a rising star, and you'll be able to say, I saw him on his way to the top. David Lisle P.S. John Bucchino has since collaborated with Harvey Fierstein in a Broadway musical entitled, "A Catered Affair." He's on a roll. Follow this guy. He's the real thing. P.P.S. Mr. Bucchino does not read music, yet he plays the piano as if it had been invented for him. As an envious piano player, I know genius when I hear it... |
