Disco classic!!!,
By La Chinita (San Francisco, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: It's Raining Men (MP3 Download)
This song was written by Paul Jabara and Paul Shaffer in 1979, and originally recorded by Martha Wash and Izora Armstead of The Weather Girls in 1982, becoming an international hit, selling over 6 million copies worldwide.
It is a disco classic that has been played in every dance club during the early eighties, and still fills the dance floor to this day! Mr_Buick's review is reason enough to do away with reviews all together.

One day this song with the surreal lyrics was running through my head. I decided that the real thing would be better so I downloaded it from Amazon and wasn't disappointed. The quality and clarity of this downloaded song is excellent; I especially like the realistic sounds of the thunder in the background.
This lively tune is infectious. When I play it loudly through my computer's Bose speakers, Mrs.Spudman and I often find ourselves singing along with the Weather Girls. It ain't a pretty picture, but it's fun. I just wonder if men who rain down from the sky end up being drips.

Has anyone ever thought about the consequences of this actually happening?,

-as in, one day people woke up to find dudes just falling out of the sky? Think about it- rooftops and cars caved in, people being crushed by falling dudes, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hospitals would be overflowing with severely injured and dying rain dudes. Broken bones, severely damaged organs, you name it... Morgues would be past full capacity because they couldn't get rid of the bodies until they've been identified. Think of the mess all over- just a horrible smattering of bones, blood and tissue. The survivors would most likely have to go through extensive rehabilitation, which is very costly- and then they'd have to be educated because unless there's schools in the clouds these guys are falling from they'd have no idea how to speak, eat or not soil themselves. And what if this isn't the first time we see manstorms? It would be totally senseless to rebuild after the extensive damage from the initial storm unless we figured out some way to make buildings resistant to the constant pressure of 150 to 300 pound people repeatedly falling and accumulating on them. Humanity would have to burrow deep underground and let those who fall from the sky build their own society above!! At least they wouldn't have to worry about reproducing because more dudes would just fall from the sky! Maybe the Weather Channel should look into producing an episode of "It Could Happen Tomorrow" on the matter.
