Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!Worst by one of jazz pianos best, September 12, 2010

This reminds of Zoot Sims "Waiting Game" on Impulse.Record company say's "Hey let's make some money" (you know Ella sings the Beatles").But as opposed to a terrib;le covers LP this was just a horrible collection of originals and my suspicion it was a $$$ maker in material and style by the anti-christ of jazz producers "Creed Taylor (who could occasionally put out a great Jazz or Blues LP if he wanted to).Just pass this one by and by one of the other fine Verve releases like his "Smokin' At The Half Note" (where he was matched with Wes Montgomery who was also led down the "worst till the next one" on Verve but whose talents never diminished if you here his live performances),his Riverside or excellent Vee Jay output.Just pass on this one even if a completists.Take a listen to sample clips and think you'll agree.It is a shame that the man who was Miles favorite and whose group with Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb was called "The Rhythm Section" (say with "Art Pepper Meets..." well like P.C. who also dies too young one wishes like Kelly could have lasted till pure hard bop piano came back into fashion and recording dates became available like was the case with another one of Bud's disciples Kenny Drew or Duke Jordan who got to put out many great LP's in late 70's through 80's.But this should never have been released.Best thing about it was goofy cover art.
