Eder Soars and Scores with Latest Recording,
By
This review is from: It's No Secret Anymore (Audio CD)
Linda Eder proves without a doubt that she has one of the best singing voices around. I have not been as excited about a cd as I have with Linda's latest, and I can't stop listening to it. Each song showcases Ms. Eder's incredible voice, while her style and interpretation perfectly fit each song. The arrangements and the orchestrations are flawless and contribute to the overall enjoyment of the cd. Some of these songs are bound to become classics - in fact, you will think you are listening to proven standards when you hear songs like "It's No Secret Anymore". The song "Why Do People Fall in Love" should become a huge hit, as well as "This Time Around" and "Even Now". I don't know whether you would classify the songs on this cd as ballads, blues, jazz, pop or Broadway and frankly I don't care - it is almost as if Ms. Eder's singing is "too marvelous for words". If you did not know it before, this cd will prove to you that Linda Eder deserves her place among the best female vocalists ever. Hopefully, the songwriting team of Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy will continue their collaboration because they, along with Ms. Eder, have created a gem.

A delightful jewel.,
This review is from: It's No Secret Anymore (Audio CD)
I purchased this cd after hearing Linda sing "Vienna" on the Rosie O'Donnell show. I was totally blown away by that song! However, buying it for that reason, I wasn't sure what to expect from the rest of the album. But I am hooked! I've never really gotten into jazz music, but Linda's voice is great and the songs are very full of meaning. Aside from "Vienna," my other favorite is the title track "It's No Secret Anymore." It's a great love song that speaks of not hiding love but embracing it! Listening to this cd easily energizes me. I love it and am very glad that I bought it!

Touching the Heart,
By thomasric@aol.com (usa) - See all my reviews

This is the most heart throbbing album yet to come from Frank Wildhorn and be sung so beautifully by his talented and beautiful wife, Linda Eder. Each song is so beautiful, it brings one to tears. This surpasses the "It's Time" Album, only, in that one, they also have the matching sheet music to go with it. I cant wait till the matching sheet music comes for "Its No Secret Anymore". I have all of Frank Wildhorns sheet music on musicals and enjoy playing them daily on the piano. Its even better to play the music on the piano and play the matching cd at the same time listening to the beautiful voice of Eder.

Best voice since Barbra Streisand,
By Wil (New Jersey USA) - See all my reviews

I got this CD about 3 days ago and have not been able to stop listening to it since. Each song is beautifully sung and orchestrated. Songs like "Why Do People Fall in Love?" and "Even Now" are tender and touching, and "Vienna" absolutely took my breathe away. One of the best performances of a song since "People." I didn't think I'd ever find another voice that could compare with Ms. Streisand - how happy I am that I was wrong. I've already ordered two other CD's and will await all future releases. Thank you, my dear Ms. Eder, for sharing your God given gift with all of us.

Tell All About Eder,

All music fans who appreciate exceptional technical talent will find a song that appeals to them on this album -- from her namesake ballads to R&B and even a little salsa. The album gives us a taste of her new Broadway musical that is in the works, Havanna. It also features Never Dance, the second track of hers that has been remixed for dance clubs around the country. (But I can't find the remix instock anywhere!) Her first dance remix, Something to Believe In, went to number four on the dance charts. Remixing her soaring voice may just turn her into a disco diva, giving her added fame and recognition, which are well-deserved and overdue. By the way, I saw her in concert this past weekend...simply stunning. She promised a Christmas albumn for us next year and tantalized us with her version of A Christmas Song. It's amazing how she can freshen familiar melodies with a dramatic style that's all her own. And it's nice to hear her perform songs other than those crafted by her hubby -- something we would like to hear more of in the future.

This review is from: It's No Secret Anymore (Audio CD)
An "A" grade album. Linda Eder's voice is divine. "Never Dance" and the other songs from "Havana" are simply astonishing. A grand Dame of jazz and love songs is reaching her own star. For all the lovers of musicals and great voices, this album should be in your collection !

Excellent!,

I must admit to never hearing of Linda Eder until Rosie O'Donnell spouted her praises. A fan of Rosie's, I decided to purchase the cd, especially after I heard Eder perform "Vienna" on the show. The whole cd moves me...to dance, sing, and even cry ("Even Now" is a tear-jerker! ). The style is wonderfully Broadway, but at times with more modern lyrics. I know she's been compared to Striesand, and I can hear the similarities. This is just the first of Eder's cds I'll be adding to my collection!

Defies classification . . .,

Linda Eder defies classification as an artist. She is marvelous in so many different genres of music. This CD is a wonderful mix of her many different musical styles. Whether she is singing a big band tune like "It's No Secret Anymore" or belting out the Latin-styled "Never Dance," she never misses the mark. This CD also showcases her talents in blues, ballads, and Broadway showtunes. "Why Do People Fall in Love" is exquisite--a tender, soulful ballad that is very moving. There are wonderful orchestrations on many of her songs such as "Even Now" and "Vienna." Her tribute to Frank Sinatra with "One For My Baby" is top-notch. My favorite song on the CD is "Anything Can Happen." Just Linda and a piano--what more do you need? Her voice is so powerful yet so tender, and she really FEELS the music when she sings. This is one of those rare albums that you can listen to from beginning to end without ever having to skip over a "not-so-great" song. This is true listening pleasure.
