Sweet Companion to the Series, June 20, 2009
This review is from: It's Sports Day! (Lazytown) (Paperback)
This book follows exactly the episode of the TV series from which it is taken. I love the Lazytown series. It's bright and surreal, and Robbie Rotten is delightfully creepy. The book brings most of that along. Robbie Rotten is not as creepy in print, but the book has stickers (yay!), so it makes up for that.
It's written a bit above the level of its age-range, so this is a book for parents to read with their children. The moral of the tale is simple and useful: fruit is good; sugar will sap your strength. However, I wish the story had perhaps gone in a different direction. Instead of Sportacus saving the day, it would have been nice to see the children defeat Robbie on their own after they discovered what happened to Sportacus. Maybe, on day, as Lazytown gets less lazy, they will.
