5 Stars for "It's Time" 1 Star for the "Special Edition",

Fisrt let me state that I am a Michael Bublé fan. He is a great singer and the music on this disc is right on par with his first release, evoking the same feelings and sung with his usual style and class. This disc is worthy of 5 stars but it gets one star because of the "Special Eition" crap.
I've purchased everything Michael has released, sans "Totally Bublé" which he publicly appologizes for. Considering his feelings about that disk, I and am amazed that he has allowed his record label to put his name on this "Special Edition". The only word that comes to mind is "greed". What kind of "poster" is folded into a 5" square so that it fits into a CD package? I buy all my art folded up into a square, doesn't everyone? The poster would be a nice touch if it were included free with the standard release, as numerous other artists have done. To charge $7 extra for a "poster" and 2 additional songs that would easily fit on the standard disc is a joke. The "Special Edition" is a sell out, and is an insult to any fan. The 2 extra songs are must haves, but as much as I want them, I refuse to fall for this marketing gimmick. Instead I am walking away with the sub standard "regular" version, feeling hurt that he has chosen to deny me, and many of his fans the pleasure of listening to some of his beautiful music simply because we can't spend $20 for this so called "Special Edition". I'm sorry Michael, but if you've recorded the songs - please give them to your fans. Don't pull this crap. Signed, a dissapointed fan.

"two bonus tracks are worth the price ~ Buble",
This review is from: It's Time (Audio CD)
Pop vocalist of the millennium is Michael Buble, the Vancouver crooner with his latest release "It's Time" [Special Deluxe Edition], arriving near the eve Valentine's Day Buble with new material and some vintage standards...featuring an unforgettable youthful style that takes you back to the '40s, '50s and '60s...listening to every tune on this album brings back memories of Nat King Cole (one of my favorite singers of all time), Bing Crosby, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra as they were crooning favorite standards of the day...he is a cross between James Dean and Elvis Presley in appearance, but has the style and ability of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin...Michael has the uncanny ability to nail each track with his signature style and making it his own.
Sit back and let's take a listen to the selections on this guaranteed winner..."FEELING GOOD", wonderful arrangement by David Foster, as Buble sings the orchestrated brass gives off a James Bond flavor and you're waiting for your drink...shaken not stirred..."A FOGGY DAY (In London Town)", great arrangement by Bill Holman on this classic George & Ira Gershwin tune, swingin' big band is here and alive..."YOU DON'T KNOW ME", composed and recorded by Eddy Arnold, later performed by Jerry Vale and Ray Charles, always a favorite of my wife Judy, her reaction to Michael's recording is the best yet..."QUANDO, QUANDO, QUANDO", very big hit for Englebert Humperdinck, just like the late Bing Crosby, Buble has more fun with duets and it shows with Nelly Furtado, latin arrangement by David Foster is contagious..."HOME", composed by Michael Buble, arranged by David Foster and Bill Ross is the most requested song from this album on the airwaves..."CAN'T BUY ME LOVE", jazzy arrangement by John Clayton Jr and David Foster, more than a toe-tapper, as Buble swings with a vengence..."THE MORE I SEE YOU", arranger John Clayton Jr. shows you why the late Billy May with Capitol Records was the greatest arranger for the label, Buble swings this one in the Sinatra style and you're loving every minute of it..."SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME", with a rumba beat the tempo is close to the Drifters classic arrangement, only better and Michael is having a ball..."TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS", dim the lights and pour your favorite beverage, with your favorite partner this is a lush arrangement by David Foster and Bill Ross, the lyrics tell the whole story..."HOW SWEET IT IS", the classic Motown hit from yesteryear with swingin' brass and harmonica that arranger John Clayton Jr. provides for Buble to make his entrance groove..."SONG FOR YOU", the great Leon Russell's hit, arranged by David Foster and Bill Ross with guest artist Chris Botti on trumpet is completely mesmerizing ..."I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN", look out Ole Blues Eyes, cause the Vancouver crooner is on the loose with the one and only Nelson Riddle arrangement orchestrated by Sammy Nestico courtesy of Paul Anka, not bad company for Michael to be in..."YOU AND I", composer Stevie Wonder arranged by David Foster and Jeremy Lubbock brings a tear to your eye as Michael pours his heart out, along with heartfelt lyrics and brings it home, just listen quietly and see if you don't agree. The two bonus tracks are worth the package price..."DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME", opening with Brian Green on guitar as the entire orchestra comes in with a killer arrangement by Mort Lindsey, Michael hits the mark a perfect bullseye with a one breath long note ending..."MACK THE KNIFE", arranger Sammy Nestico pulls out all the stops with this outstanding rendition of the late Bobby Darin's signature song, Buble has his finger on the pulse of this Kurt Weill tune and takes it to another level..."Lookout, ole Mikie is back"...to the collector of Michael's music this is definitely a wanting to own since yesterday. My wife and I were fortunate enough to see Michael in a St. Louis concert, met him back stage...might add this young man made a very positive impression on all who attended that night's show...he's a first class guy and has everything going for him...couldn't happen to a nicer person...it's like second nature with his natural ability to vocalize and be a crowd pleaser is pure magic...shows why Buble has the the stuff stars are made of...he's the hottest property in the genre of "American Standards" today...as Michael warns his band, "get ready it's about to start all over again"...climb aboard this musical merry-go-round, you'll never regret it...Good Luck, Michael! Total Time: 55:48 on 15 Tracks ~ Warner Music 48996 ~ (2/08/2005)

Long anticipated, lotta hoopla from David Foster promising even a much better release then his 1st and follow up cd's. Best thing (for me) is his duet on "quando quando" The album is quite good and well put together but still lacks that special sound he managed to capture with his 1st release. This one is simply just a nice record, something you would listen to during a small diner party, as background music. But, to say exceptional, not this one. Perhaps his next release. A dvd release of the UK concert would be nice (he included some of these songs on it). Seeing it would add that special "punch" to it. Oh well. I purchased the special edition, I've heard better rendations of Mack the Knife" by others. I do not understand why the 2 bonus songs were not included with the regular release as these 2 rendations, really, are not that special and do not warrant the extra pricing.
