3.0 out of 5 stars lush and lovely
Although she has limited range, Tina Louise's appeal is mighty--especially among baby boomers and nostalgia buffs. Her renditions of smoky lounge favorites like "Embraceable You" and "Let's Do It" are very friendly and sexy, just like Ginger Grant herself. Fans take note: Tina also did a single for United Artists not available here: "In The Evening" (with "I'll Be Yours"...

in my opinion it's always time for tina. this cd is a must for any tina louise fan, but not just for nastalgia but because
it's a darn good listen. miss louise has talents the hollywood casting agents never dreamed of. you've got to admire someone like her who just keeps plugging at it and turning out great performances, one after the other.this cd is no exception.it comes from early in her career but shows the talent of a seasoned pro.tina louise is a master at reinventing herself, that, long before anyone ever heard of madonna.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Julie London, why wouldn't you like this..., January 1, 2004
This review is from: It's Time for Tina (Audio CD)
Tina's voice is very sultry like Julie London's was in the 50's. Here she is backed by a great small jazz combo led by legendary jazz sax master Coleman Hawkins(that alone is reson to buy this!). Hawkin's gets to stretch out a bit, and compliments Tina's vocals. A very moody album, pefect for cadlelight & romance! All you hipsters and retro bachlors need this for your pad!

A nice selection of songs from a more gentle, romantic time. I wish Tina had more albums out there - I'd definately buy more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Serious Talent, June 26, 2000

This review is from: It's Time for Tina (Audio CD)
So she was sexy Ginger on Gilligan's Island. So? That role alone has made Tina Louise a tv immortal, an icon, a legend. However, the woman has also spent the better part of 40 years busy with more projects than all her other castaways put together! She has dozens and dozens of dramatic film and TV roles under her belt, and not a year goes by that this plucky, pretty actress hasn't been before the cameras in some fashion. Bottom line: she's been a constantly working actress. Kudos to you, Tina. Versatility is her strength and hallmark, and this is nowhere more evident than on 'It's Time For Tina.' What a surprise to learn that her singing voice is as expressive, sexy, and professional as the rest of her. La Louise has secured the likes of Coleman Hawkins and a crack combo to back her on such romantic classics as "Tonight Is The Night," and "Embraceable You." Love is the theme here, and her voice is fresh and atmospheric. A relaxing, groovy, and pleasant CD in every fashion. Perfect for an evening with a glass of vino and your feet propped up in your favorite chair. The sound quality is great here, as well. Tina's unique iconic legacy grows more admirable with this kind of diversified work. I give it five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, May 21, 1999

This review is from: It's Time for Tina (Audio CD)
It's clear from this record that Tina Louise's talent has a range that extends beyond "Gilligan's Island." Her voice is honest, fresh, and lovely to listen to, and the material is classic enough to stand on its own. I was most surprised by the competence of the orchestra--A-list backing here. Great dinner music, romance music, cocktail party music, too. Tina Louise earns her legendary icon status with this kind of evidence. highly recommended.

I first bought IT'S TIME FOR TINA on vinyl at a tag sale in the Catskills for $2.00 (Mint condition, thank you very much!). Before her TV days she had a number of stage gigs. She was great then and she's better today. Tina, if you're out there, get thee a new manager and be the star your supposed to be! By the way, a great recording that goes very well with my Patty Duke and Yma Sumac recordings.

I have always been a fan of Tina Louise since Gods Little Acre.I was not surprised that her album was this good. As a matter of fact I just purchased it from HMV.I found out it was reissued on the net. Will there be others issued? As a matter of fact,I would love to see more of her on t.v..I did get to see her on Rosie Odonnell.she looked great.By the way I have her book.I just wish she expanded on her life and career.O yeah,my name is Evan Johnson from Philadelphia.Im 36 and I wrote to Tina a few years back ,and sent her a doll.
