Dancing in my Nudd-Pants,
By Mom of Four (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Hardcover)
Justine Alfaro December 4, 2004Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants, Louise Rennison, 0-06-009746-9 "Georgia thought she had finally put her "red-bottomosity" to rest when she chose Robbie the Sex God over Dave the Laugh, but now she's not so sure. Is she doomed to be a pop-star widow, or will she take her own bottom firmly in hand? As always, in this fourth book about Georgia's angst-filled confessions, nothing ever turns out as planned!" Taking place in her home land of England, Georgia's back again in the fourth book in her series, bringing along her wacky adventures of living as an English teen. As you read the series, you will get to know Georgia's character, she a bit of everything ;spontaneous, out going, funny, rude, self-obsessed, difficult, but most of all, she has a good heart. But now, time has gone by and Georgia has learned to mature up, or has she? No, not a chance, Georgia is the same crazy girl she has always been, with the exception of having a Sex god (a.k.a. Robbie) for a boyfriend. All was going well until Robbie had to travel around to promote his record. With Robbie away Georgia is left alone, boyfriend-less, while her friends go out with their boyfriends. Georgia secretly starts to actually have feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Dave the Laugh. This can't be possible, Dave the Laugh is going out with her friend Ellen. Georgia's way of trying to settle things, never turns out as planned! This genre is non-fiction narrative, but it's hilarious. It takes you along on the bazaar journey of Georgia Nicolson's English life. Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants was a real page turner because every page leads you to a funny event that is going to occur to Georgia, and you'll just want to keep on finding out what bad thing is going to happen to her next. The author makes Georgia seem like a normal person, but the some of the events that happen to her are so embarrassing and hilarious at the same time, that it makes Georgia's life seem so unbelievable, and it even makes you want to be embarrassed for her. The style of writing the author uses is very creative, it's written as if it were Georgia's diary which makes even more fun to read. I really recommend this book to girls that are in seventh grade or older, and that have a good sense of humor. I think it's a great book for all girls, whether they like reading or not. I think no matter how much you don't like to read, this book will really get to you, and you'll end up liking it.

Another hilarious book of "Even Further Confessions",
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Library Binding)
Being a loyal fan of Georgia, I found myself excited and eager to dive into her funny world of snogging, ______-a-gogoland, and the ace gang. I found myself both entertained as well as empathetic to the "sex queen" through out the whole book.Although it's been a while since the last book, I was shocked to find out how much of the story fit right back into place. Louise Renninson does a fantastic job at bringing the book back to the audience and it makes for a very nice and easy read. Overall, this book is good, fun reading and it works best when read with the preceeding books. I recomend it for anyone who has a sence of humor and can laugh at a cute, dim-witted 15 year old sweetheart. Bravo!

Fourth Book and Still Laughing!!,
By "baxterbutt8873" (Scottsdale, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Hardcover)
Fourteen-year-old Georgia lives in London. She attends an all-girls school, but doesn't take it very seriously, as she is always finding some way to mock her teachers. She has four best friends that attend the same school she does: Jas, Jools, Ellen, and Rosie. Unfortunately for Georgia, her parents are a bit on the loony side. Her mother has boobs the size of watermelons and is a stay-at-home mother, although she doesn't do: doesn't clean dishes, doesn't cook meals, doesn't care for the house. The only thing she does do is take care of Georgia's little sister, Libby. Libby is, in simplest words, a child gone wrong. She pees in any corner she wants to of Georgia's room, she hides her dirty diapers in Georgia's bed, she has food such as potatoes and beans as dolls, and she has the speech patterns and impediments of a one-year-old. As for Georgia's father, he is a business man who is very strict, uptight, and "in his own world." Georgia's cat Angus is a half Scottish, half domestic cat that is the size of a small Labrador, only insane. Every night and day he teases and taunts the next-door neighbor's two miniature poodles. He has a mysterious "lair" at the back of Georgia's closet, where he strategizes his next attack. He also has a love affair with the neighbors across the street's prize Burmese cat Naomi. They both love each other, Georgia says, but her dad and the neighbors can't stand Angus and want to get him fixed, as in the last book. He proudly still has his "trouser snake addendums"! Georgia is still faced with her dilemma from the last book, choosing between the sex god and Dave the Laugh. The sex god, Georgia's boyfriend for a good time now, is at least four years older than her, is the lead singer in his rock band, who have a good chance of getting a contract, has great snogging skills, is absolutely gorgeous and fit, makes Georgia go "jelliod" and unable to form comprehendible sentences while with him, and is a SEX GOD, was Georgia's first choice over Dave. However, Dave is just as fit and almost as good-looking as the sex god is. But Dave has twice the humor the sex god has, if the sex god has any at all. Georgia feels like she doesn't have to worry about what she says or does around Dave because she doesn't have to worry about impressing him, like she does the sex god. For now, Georgia has chosen the sex god, thinking she can just forget about Dave the Laugh...but she is completely wrong! I loved this book just as much as I loved the previous three - I didn't dare put it down for fear of not knowing what happened next. I really enjoyed the British words Rennison used in the context of the book; there was a glossary at the end to define the British terms the reader didn't understand - even the definitions were hilarious!

A Fabbity Fab Fab Read!,
By Lizzie (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Library Binding)
Dancing in My Nuddy Pants is the fourth chapter in the hilarious series of a crazy English teen, Georgia Nicholson. From experimenting with her school's awful berets once again, taking a weekend trip to Paris, choosing between the loves of her life and becoming a "pop star widow" this book keeps you laughing until the very end. I suggest any and all readers of this book do not read it in public; this is a laugh out loud funny book! Though the trials and tribulations of Georgia and the ace gang are just fabbity fab fab, it is not a good a book as its predecessors.

the third book in the series'Knocked out by my nunga nungas" was good, but a little lack luster compared to the first two, but it lacked in plot, and was too short. But I still wasn't too dissapointed, and prayed to God that there would be a new book coming out soon from the series.(I mean, I'm a devoted fan for life, these books got me speakin' British in L.A.!).But this book totally picked up where the first two left off.It still wasn't as good as the first two, but it still kicked butt. These books are my guiltiest pleasure and my total obssession.they tend to bring out the fun even on my dreariest days.

Dancing In My Nuddy-Pants,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, Book 4) (Paperback)
I read the book Dancing In My Nuddy Pants, by Louise Rennison. This book is about a girl named Georgia Nicholson. She lives in England with her mom, dad, little sister Libby, and oddly large cat named Angus. This story is about the life of a normal teenage girl living in England. There were many good parts in this book, but if I had to choose a favorite then I'd choose the time when she tripped "Elvis" with a wheelbarrow. Once Georgia was outside of "Elvis`" hut and she decided to pull a brutally mean joke on him. She placed a wheelbarrow outside of his hut and then she went to his window and screamed frantically like something was wrong. This caused "Elvis" too run out his door and trip over the wheelbarrow that Georgia put there, but Georgia got what she deserved and was suspended for a while. I've read many books but Dancing In My Nuddy Pants was just a book that I could not put down. If you are seeking a hilarious book that you will love then I highly suggest reading this book. Georgia taught me things that I should never do, and so things that I should do. If this sounds interesting you might also want to read the first too, and then you can get this book to resume with the tale of Georgia Nicholson. But don't be sad when it's over because there are 7 books in this series.

Georgia is back,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants : Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson) (Hardcover)
Georgia is back with another astonishing sequel, Dancing in My Nuddy Pants. You will not be disappointed in this hilarious come back. If you are in grades 7-9 you will love the humor of this self-absorbed teen. In this novel there aren't chapters there are diary entries. My favorite diary entire is the one that talks about the neighbor's cat getting pregnant. The neighbors came over and accused Georgia's cat. Georgia's dad is hilarious and says many hilarious things about it. This is a pretty good novel except for the fact that is very confusing. She is British and speaks some British in the book. It's pretty hard to understand but besides that it is a hilarious and very exciting book.

Confessions,

This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, Book 4) (Paperback)
Louise Rennison is the author and voice of Georgia Nicolson in "Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants". Lousie has written a total of four books of Georgia Nicoloson's life through her diaries which include, "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging", "I'm now The Girlfriend of a Sex God", "Knocked out By My Nunga-Nungas", and "Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants". Being a British Native herself, her characters also live in England which you would have noticed by the language itself. When writing her books, Louise gets a lot of her ideas for her books from her own childhood and has even said that she uses the same names. The author has a way with describing the events that happen to Georgia that allow you to get a clear view of everything that is going on. The reactions that Georgia and her friends give and say are well suited for their ages. The main character Georgia is your average thirteen year old girl growing up in England. She has a little sister, Libby, who gets on her nerves along with her "Muti" and "Vati" who think they're teenagers themselves. Georgia is also head over heels with her boyfriend Robbie, "the sex god" whom she has gone the highest with on the snogging scale (kissing). Her best friend Jas doesn't approve of Georgia's lover and never lets her forget it. In this book Georgia is back and so is the "ace gang" in a hilarious first semester of school. The gang is back to normal when they start getting in trouble in morning assebly because they have their berets on backwards. Georgia is unsure if she is completely over her ex boyfriend Dave the Laugh after accidentally snogging him at a party. She then realizes that being a pop star girlfriend of a sex god is way better. After Georgia finds out Robbie and his band, The Stiff Dylans, are going to America, she wants to go to. Only the bands plans change and they have to go to New Zealand for a month which causes Georgia and Robbie's relationship to be put on hold. Since Louise Rennison uses a lot of her own experiences and childhood for her books, there will be more Georgia Nicolson and more snogging! |
