Book Description

Meet Delilah Winchester…

There was a time when the pedigrees of neither my fiancé nor my engagement ring would have mattered to my mother, as long as I was happy. That was then. Now she’s a celebrity, and my wedding is the ultimate publicity stunt…

Meet Carmela Cantano…

The Queen of Queens. She cooks; she cleans; she dotes on Anthony, The World’s Most Wonderful Son. My future mother-in-law has her own ideas about the proper matrimonial send off for her precious baby boy. What there won’t be is Delilah’s vision of WASPy nuptial perfection …

Meet Me…

Emilie, hapless bride-to-be caught between Momzillas with opposing views and sharpened claws. When, exactly, did my big day become theirs, and how do I get it back?

Editorial Reviews

"It's My Wedding Too is as delicious, layered and inventively crafted as a Sylvia Weinstock cake. With warring mothers that use invitation lists, dress fittings and canceled cake orders as military tactics, Naylor could be the worst thing for wedding pageantry since the quickie Vegas marriage."

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun! August 15, 2005
This story romps through fabulously crazy situations as the bride-to-be, Emilie, tries to retain some sense of control over her upcoming wedding. The slightly kookie characters (reminiscent of early Rita Mae Brown) had me laughing out loud more than once. Just when you think you can't handle any more outrageous doings, Naylor reveals the deeply human side of her characters, fears and all. This is a jaunty read that will encourage any bride-to-be (or in my case, a bride-in-being of more than a few years) to look at her own family in a new light, and relieve some stress during the craziness of wedding planning. I'm looking forward to a sequel -- will Emilie survive the Momzilla's for the first year of marriage?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh Out Loud Funny!!! September 26, 2005
I picked up this book because I thought it looked like some light reading material. I started reading and found it difficult to put down when other things came up. While I was reading this book I had an almost continual smile and many times caught myself laughing out loud!!

Sharon Naylor made her characters appear very real and I found myself actually able to relate some of the characters to people that I know.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to Ms. Naylor's 2nd endeavor in fiction, which I hope she will consider writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, witty, a real page turner! July 25, 2005
This novel is a great find! From the first page, I could not put it down. It's hysterically funny, yet there's also a certain myterious element (will the bride to be's mother derail the entire wedding by her awful behavior--and yes, you will care), as well as unpredictable occurrences and fascinating people, such as a New Age-ish roommate recovering from being badly jilted.

The characters are well drawn and believable and the dialogue crackles.

Sharon has always advised brides and grooms to prepare for the marriage, not just the wedding, and all of her books focus not just on planning details like designing a wedding cake or choosing a gown, but on the *relationships* that build between the couple and their in-laws, the relationships that may change between the couple and their single friends, and the relationships a couple can create between themselves and their wedding vendors. Weddings may be stressful to plan, but they don't have to create stress in your life. Sharon Naylor's 25+ years in the wedding industry have exposed her to so many different personality types trying to work together, she knows the kinds of clashes that can happen and she advises against every type of planning or communication mistake. The goal is, of course, a beautiful and personalized wedding day, but Sharon Naylor wants you to *enjoy* the process with the positive people you know, always taking the time to think about what's going *well* instead of what's still left to do or what's disappointing.

Sharon Naylor says she gravitated to wedding world because it's comprised of all of her favorite things: travel, gourmet food, floral design, fashion, photography, dance...and most importantly the gathering of far-flung friends and family to celebrate a happy occasion.
