3.0 out of 5 stars Too good for words
Wow, just awesome. Oh, and a better translation is "Rocket Mafia". I love the sad Meowth song on this CD, as well as the one from the Jiggly episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars I could not believe my ears, really!!, May 20, 2003
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
I own several Japanese Pokemon CDs, and this one is my most favorite one. Why? It is all Team Rocket! And as a big Team Rocket fan, this CD was the first one I wanted to own. And I really don't regret buying it. I had read many praises on this CD before I bought it but still I was surprised when I opened this neat package. It contains CD-shaped hardcover story book with lots of Team Rocket pictures with comments in hiragana, katakana (Japanese alphabets) and kanji (Chinese characters) on 48 full-color pages. You can follow the story on the CD much easier when looking into this cute book, but I highly recommend to read translation of this drama into English before you'll listen to it... It helped me a lot to understand what was going on at all. The next thing you find in this package are two booklets with sketches of Musashi and Kojiro. Neat! It is great if you want to learn how to draw them. And the last thing and the reason why you wanted to buy it - great CD with 7 tracks. 4 of 4 songs on this CD are in my Pokemon songs top ten list. They are so cool!

The first one is Roketto Dan yo Eien ni, well known even for non-Japanese Pokemon fans, because the same melody was used for the US (and also German, Spanish and other) version of this song. But, in my opinion, this original version is much much better. I can't speak Japanese so well so I don't know what it's lyrics mean, but the melody of Musashi's, Kojiro's and Nyasu's singing voices is quite different from the US version voices' melody, if you understand what I mean. And the quarreling between Kojiro+Musashi and Nyasu in the middle of the song is so cute too! To shorten it a little bit, it is my most favorite Pokemon song and maybe it is because it is Team Rocket's theme song. The song itself is very beautiful, but it makes me cry from time to time when I listen to it, because I love Team Rocket so much.

From the second to the fourth track you can enjoy Japanese 3-part radio drama. It is something like one Pokemon TV episode (it is about half an hour long, but Satoshi and co. are there only for about 10 seconds, really. It is whole Team Rocket episode. It is fun to listen to it even if you don't understand Japanese, like me, because M+K+N's Japanese voices are both great and hilarious. But I really recommend to read the English translation. It is so so funny!

The fifth track is Rakki Rakki, Kojiro's theme song. Quite weird at first, but I like it now. It has to be funny if you understand Japanese because of the high number of Pokemon puns.

The next two tracks are songs which you can't find on any other Pokemon CD or in any episode. They are bonus tracks made exclusively for this Team Rocket CD, what is quite funny, because they have nothing common with Team Rocket. The first one is Pokemon Master e no Michi. Its melody is Pokemon Game Boy Game title screen melody. If you own Red, Blue or Yellow version of this game, you surely remember this melody. It is really cool and I liked it from the first time. And when I heard the version with lyrics on this CD, duet sung by man and woman, I could not believe my ears. This song was so beautiful!! It would be nice opening song for the anime, I think. Maybe even better than Mezase Pokemon Master.

And the last track on this great CD, song called Umi, is another melody converted from Game Boy Pokemon game, with lyrics of course. It is melody played whenever you use surf Pokemon power in the game. Quite boring melody, in my opinion, but on this CD it is very well done. It is probably because it is sung by a great singer, some woman with the sweetest voice (I mean it in a good way)!

To sum it up: It's a White Tomorrow! is very very very well done CD. If you are Team Rocket fan, you just have to buy it. If you are Pokemon fan and are interested in anything Japanese, buy it. If you want something neat and funny, buy it. If you learn Japanese, like me, buy it. If you like j-pop, buy it. The only reason why do not buy this CD, that comes on my mind, is that for younger kids it can be quite boring listen to something for 30 minutes and don't understand to it. And buing it only for 4 songs it is quite expensive. I can thin of another reason but if you hate Team Rocket or Pokemon, why have you read my review at all?

Team Rocket Forever! And Pokemon anime and it's great Japanese songs too! ^_^ Thank you for reading my long and exhausting (for both sides) review. I hope you enjoyed it and that it helped you to decide.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful tale of friendship!, March 24, 2001
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)

This CD drama is, without a doubt, one of the best Pokemon albums in existence! The songs that Musashi, Kojiro, and Nyasu sing are both beautiful and hilarious, and even if you don't understand a word of Japanese, the sound effects and wonderful illustrations in the book make the story easy to follow. And what a story it is -- it's about what happens to Team Rocket after they blast off one day. It's revealed that Mondo, a younger member of Team Rocket, adores Musashi, Kojiro, and Nyasu, and he helps them out of tight spots whenever they get into trouble. Mondo trades his Metamon (Ditto) to Musashi and Kojiro in exchange for Nyasu, but when disaster strikes, Nyasu proves his courage and love for his friends by coming to their rescue. In the end, Team Rocket learns that no matter how tough they try to act, there's no denying how much they all care about each other and that their friendship makes them true winners, even when they're defeated by jari-tachi. (If only more episodes of Pokemon could be like this! *_*)

One thing to be aware of when purchasing this CD is that SonMay Records makes a bootlegged version that doesn't come with a book. However, when purchasing this item on Amazon.com, you can be assured that it's the official Pikachu Records version complete with illustrated story book (as well as some cute booklets filled with sketches of Musashi, Kojiro, and various other Rocket pics! *_*) and that you're getting your money's worth.

And the Pikachu Records version of this CD is definitely something every TR fan should have! With a wonderful Rocket-centric story, beautiful songs, and a whole book full of gorgeous Team Rocket pictures, what more could you want? ^_^

This is a cool CD that stars Team Rocket, and if you are a fan of them, this is the music for you! Included are small "dramas", which are art samples that come with the CD. They portray what happens after Team Rocket "blasts off again". An unseen character, Mondo, is introduced as the guy with a Ditto who gives Team Rocket food and drives them places and other stuff. It is shown that Mondo has feelings for Jessie (Musashi) and James (Kojiro) is jealous, and him and Meowth (Nyaasu) do not get along. This is very cool and I recommend that you purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is an enjoyable CD!, April 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
I say that the songs in "It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang" (correct translation) in the most part are enjoyable and sometimes addicting to hear over and over again. My favorite songs are "Rocket Gang! Into Eternity" and "Ocean." The most interesting in the CD album are the three-track radio drama of the same title. I can say that it is the most enjoyable of the two Pocket Monsters radio dramas I own. It is entertaining, full with humorous dialogue, and colorful characters Musashi, Kojiro, Nyarth, and Mondo--the Rocket Gang Deliverer Trainee. What interest me is the relationship between Musashi, Kojiro and Nyarth, as well their fates once they break up.

"It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang" is the best of the two available radio drama (the other is "The Birth of Mewtwo"), so I recommend Pokemon purists and curious dub fans to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!, October 28, 2002
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
This CD is a must-have for any Team Rocket fan! The CD Drama is really cool, you should find a translation when you listen to it though so you know what is going on. This CD also features the songs Lucky Lucky, Umi, Through Eternity(Pokémon Elite Four Theme), and Rocketto Dan Yo Eian Ni, Team Rocket's official theme song! The book is cool too, get it now!

This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
This CD, is yet another fine example of how much more emphasis is placed in animation than here in the USA.

This is a beautifully packaged CD with a 35 page hard bound mini-book included with the disk. Even though their is only one disc in the set, the listener gets to enjoy a Team Rocket "Radio Drama" and 4 previously "unreleased" Pokemon musical scores. Definately a must for any "Rocketshipper" or fan of the Pokemon anime.

This is great. Although it's confusing unless you know Japanese, there's a book with pictures, that I understood. The CD drama had sound effects aswell to guide you through it.
It has tracks 'Roketto Dan Yo Eien Ni', 'through eternity', 'umi' and 'Lucky Lucky'. (Those are the ones I remember!)
Trust me, it's money well spent and you'll probably spend time admiring the the booklets with pictures of Musashi, Kojiro and Nyasu in before listening to the CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Pocket Monsters CDs!, July 6, 2000
By
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
Loving Rocket Gang, I had to buy this CD. I'm sooo glad I did! All the songs are great. Plus the dramas are hilarious! "Lucky Lucky" is probably my favorite track with all the puns of pokemon (.."Lucky,Lucky nice to Mewtwo") sung by Kojiro! That song's a bit "mature",though-if you know Japanese. Still, any fan of the Pocket Monsters anime and Rocket Gang should buy this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a White Tommorrow! Rocket Gang, May 22, 2000
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
This is a great CD that satrs everyone's favorite villains, Rocket Gang! There's a few pictures that come with it showing you what Mondo looks like, and there's also a few bonus songs on the CD. This describes the tale of Mondo, who helps the Rockets after they blast off. He sounds hyper... anyway, he trades his Ditto for Meowth, and before long J&J get into trouble when they're attacked by Beedrills. Ditto is overeager, and he always transforms wrong, so he can't help them. Meowth saves them, and they trade Ditto back to Mondo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shiroi Ashita da, Roketto-Dan!!!, February 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang (Audio CD)
Shiroi Ashita da Roketto-Dan (It's A White Tomorrow! Rocket Gang) is the third Japanese Team Rocket CD that I purchased, and probably my favorite. I'm a little obsessed (okay, make that a LOT obsessed) with the Rockets, and picked this up the first chance I got. It differs from the other two Japanese Team Rocket CDs, Maemuki Rocket Dan: Pokémon Theme and Rocket Gang Forever!, as the CD contained within is full-size instead of mini.

The first track is Roketto-Dan Yo Eien Ni (Team Rocket Forever), which can also be found on the CD of the same name. I like this song a lot. The vocals are amazing (what else would be expect from Musashi and Kojiro?), and the squabbling between the three is cute and funny. And of course, the recitation of the motto is awesome, as always! XD

The next three tracks contain the three parts of Team Rocket's CD Dorama (drama). Each part lasts about twelve minutes, with the credits being voiced at the end, making it last a little longer than a normal Pokemon episode. Satoshi (Ash) and co., including Takeshi (Brock)'s Iwark (Onix), are only present for a few seconds. (I wish more episodes of Pokemon were like this!) This CD also has the only appearance of the Japan-exclusive character Mondo, Rocket Delivery Trainee. It turns out he has a case of puppy love for Musashi (Jessie), and Kojiro (James) is a little jealous... HOW ADORABLE!!! EEEEEEK!!!

...Ahem. Sorry about that. Die-hard Rocketshipper here. ^_^' Anyway, this drama is about what happens after Team Rocket gets blasted off one day. The voices are absolutely hilarious, with the arguing and the poetry and the motto and such. (Not to mention Musashi trying to sweet-talk Mondo. Funny!) If you don't speak Japanese at all, you need to go look up the translation! It's super hilarious!!

A warning: There are some puns on Japanese Pokemon names, similar to Lucky Lucky, Kojiro's song, also contained on this CD. For people who don't know those, some of it might be a bit confusing. But all in all, this drama is really neat and really well done!

The fifth track contains the aforementioned Lucky Lucky. I didn't really like this song at first, but it grows on you. And gets stuck in your head. Heh... As I said before, there's a lot of Japanese Pokemon puns. For example, at one point Kojiro says "KOIKING!", which is the Japanese name for Magikarp, taken from koi -goldfish- and the English word king. But it could be interpreted as "King of Love", since koi can also mean love in Japanese. Hmm, is that a Rocketshipping hint? :D I bet this Lucky girl is nowhere near as gorgeous as Musashi!

The last two tracks are never-before-released songs that aren't related to Team Rocket. Track six, Pokemon Master e no Michi (The Road To Becoming a Pokemon Master), is the original melody from the Red, Blue and Yellow Game Boy Games. Or so they say. I've never played them myself, but the music is easily recognizable. The vocals are a duet, sung by a guy and a girl. I'm not sure if I like this one, I think it's a bit strange. But that's just me...

The last track is Umi (Ocean), which is the music from when you use Surf in those same games. It was so beautiful, I couldn't believe my ears! The woman who sings it reminds me a bit of the Eternal Diva, voiced by Nana Mizuki, from the Professor Layton film of the same name- Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva (2009) ( Reiton kyôju to eien no utahime ) ( Professor Layton ) [ NON-USA FORMAT, Blu-Ray, Reg.B Import - United Kingdom ]. It's so pretty!

All righty then, there's your list of all the tracks on this awesome CD. It also comes with a hardcover, full-color book, with illustrations of the drama so you can follow along! And two pamphlets- the concept artwork for Musashi and Kojiro! There's Nyaasu (Meowth) too, as well as some of their first mechas and robots, and disguises galore! Glory day! We even get to see Dogars (Koffing) and Arbo (Ekans) playing dress-up! Too funny!

AND SO, that concludes my review. I hope it's helpful! Sorry it was so long! (They always seem to turn out that way! TR rules!)

Signing off! And remember...

It's A White Tomorrow!
