5.0 out of 5 stars Attitude Trumps Aptitude, September 1, 2005
This review is from: It's The Will, Not The Skill (Paperback)
Jim Tunney, former NFL Super Bowl referee, is a great writer and story teller. He proves it again and again in his new book, It's the Will, Not the Skill.

Tunney explores the life of NFL legend, Herman Edwards. What a great read, even if you're not an avid sports fan.

I personally have seen time and again hard working, highly motivated people with lesser skills outperform their smarter, less motivated peers. This book simply validates it for me.

I've followed the career of Jim Tunney for decades. His words and deeds inspire me. Now he has written about a man who inspired him. This is "filet of motivation", the prime cut!
Herman Edwards wisdom as filtered by the mind of another sports giant. Buy this book now. Your life will be better for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Founder Winninger Institute For Market Strategy, August 26, 2005
This review is from: It's The Will, Not The Skill (Paperback)
I've thought it for years but you have confirmed it. It's the will not the skill.
As a small town boy from Iowa with a lot of determination and not a lot of skill I was gratified and convinced by your book that where I am to day was based on my will.
I will suggest your book to everyone who needs the will to win not just the skills to succeed. Thanks Jim I have waited a log time to hear your words and they are music to my ears! to my WILL!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Integrity in Action, August 26, 2005
This review is from: It's The Will, Not The Skill (Paperback)
Sometimes you get to read about a leader that not only talks about values; he lives them. Herman Edwards is one of those leaders and this book captures his story as only a former NFL referee could do. Jim Tunney calls them as he sees them!. Don't just buy it for your library; read it right away!

Herman Edwards' life is the stuff of which great books and movies are made...and, this is the book. The great thing about this book is that if you are a sports fan, there are wonderful stories and insights into the game of football...however, if you're not a fan, Edwards' compelling story of achieving great success in spite of amazing odds is highly motivating and moving. Perhaps no one else could've written this but Tunney...the most recognizable NFL official of all time. He has just the right touch to write a book that appeals to all of us who have a desire for personal achievement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Written about a Pro, by a Pro, February 26, 2005
This review is from: It's The Will, Not The Skill (Paperback)
This book is as interesting for the insights of the author--his own principles and philosophies--as it is for those of Coach Herman Edwards. Now I know why they say sports teaches character and helps mold children into the adults you'd like them to be as parents.
