R.E.M. is a band that has had great success with a number of hit albums and popular singles. This was one of their earlier successes although it was certainly dwarfed by later successes such as Losing My Religion. When the band released "In Time: The Best of REM" I was disappointed to see that they left this song out of the collection for some reason. With the song's release on Amazon as an unrestricted mp3 for less than a dollar, I can finally pick it up at a reasonable price and complete my R.E.M. collection.
"It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" is one of the group's bouncier tunes and the lyrics are interesting if a bit obscure at times. The song has held up better than a lot of R.E.M.'s work and is better remembered than some of their songs that charted higher at the time they were released. All in all, it's well worth picking up.

Though some think REM were sellouts when they made a record deal I don't think they lost any of their quality, great song.
