Finding your way to work/personal life balance,

This review is from: It's All in Your Head (Paperback)
The assumption behind this early, insightful look at the work-leisure conflict is that we do pretty well at work, but neglect the "other life", family, leisure, self. For many, success has only been slightly redefined since then, and the strategies here offered still have a great deal of merit. Starting with a story about a retired fellow realizing with a shock that he had failed in his personal life, the book asks us to decide how we want to succeed, and to employ the tactics offered to help us do just that. I particularly appreciate his mention of awakening the senses, slowing down, learning to communicate more "softly", and relearning the lessons of intimacy. In a final useful turn, the book closes with suggestions for parents for raising children who are both successful and healthy, living balanced lives.Updates of several of these strategies are explored in some of the newer inspirational self-help books.Letters to My Granddaughters; Insights and inspiration for a life journey
