Excellent collection of violin showpieces,

This review is from: Itzhak Perlman with Zubin Mehta & the New York Philharmonic (Audio CD)
This disc brings together a number of showpieces composed for (or by) violin virtuosos of the past couple centuries. Perlman is in splendid form, Mehta and the New York Philharmonic provide fine support, and the recordings are top-notch. This disc presents a wonderful opportunity to hear the greatest violinist of our own time display his talent on the highlights of the violin repertoire.

Itzhak Perlman with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic:
The virtuoso violin is Itzhak Perlman. Recorded in 1987 when Perlman was in his prime are works for violin and orchestra by various composers. Pablo De Sarasate (1844-1908) Fantasy on themes from Bizet's "Carmen" for violin and orchestra (or piano) Op. 25 11:06 Ernest Chausson (1855-1899) Poeme for Violin and Orchestra Op. 25 16:33 Camille Saint-Saens (1835-1921) Havanaise in E Major for violin and piano ( or orchestral accompaniment), Op. 83 9:37 Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) Tzigane Rhapsody and Concert for Violin and piano ( or orchestra) with a Harp played by Myor Rozen 9:31 Camille Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for Violin and Orchestra in A minor Op. 28 8:55 These are beautifully mastered recordings as the New York Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta lays the background for Itzhak Perlman and his violin to artfully play these compositions to perfection. It is truly amazing to hear Perlman play these different composer's music with flare. All of these works share something in common, they are strong with languid and fiery components. They evoke French, Spanish and Hungarian styles making the music very lively at times. Deutsche-Grammophon DDD Stereo recording, total time 56:18 the sound is excellent.

I don't see giving a lovely piece of music a bad review because your issues are with the vendor. This is a lovely CD, and well worth the listening. As usual, DG does a great job on the sound.
