I really enjoy this series, and this book is no exception. The books are sturdy and boast a gorgeous and enticing design- and the text is actually a great overview of the subject. Though I've been a longtime fan of history, I actually learned a few things from this book about Ivan the Terrible. The text is a clear, straightforward biography, with lots of illustrations and no dumbing down.

A refreshing change from most children's biographies, this book is both
informative and interesting; unlike the usual boring, I'm-gonna-fall-asleep kid's biographies,
my eyes were wide open while I was reading. It is thorough desite it's diminutive size. It
can easily be read in a day, or if your a fast reader, less than an hour. Don't waste your
money on Sterling Biographies (NOT Sterling POINT Biographies, those are GREAT!!!) because they
are written dryly and made me feel like falling dead asleep, unless you like that kind of writing, of
course. If you've grown out of the "Who Was" series, this is a great alternative!!!
