1.0 out of 5 stars don't buy this edition - very small, September 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ivanhoe (Collectors Library) (Hardcover)
(i haven't read the book yet.) this review is just for this "Collector's Library" edition of the book. i was pretty disappointed when i opened the box. this book is around 6 inches by 4 inches and little over an inch thick. that doesn't sound bad, but it's really small. also the text is pretty small and the pages are so thin that the text on the other side of the page is visible (more than normal). So don't buy this unless you want a 'travel' edition to fit in your purse or something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Edition, September 7, 2010
This review is from: Ivanhoe (Collectors Library) (Hardcover)
All "Collector's Library" editions are approximately 6" by 4", hardback, with gold embossed pages, and a red ribbon page marker. The pages are thin but not see through unless you hold the page out when reading. All in all, these editions are very well constructed and make for great reading and for collections. The most difficult thing about this book is the writing. It is like reading a foreign language with the old speech incorporated. Once you get the language down, the book is an enjoyable read emphasizing the differences in the castes in old times in England. The Knights Templar have a very good reputation in modern movies and other books, but in reality they were glorified "royalty", living on the hard work of others, taking advantage of their religious powers.
