5.0 out of 5 stars heres to all you country haters
wow cannot believe how others seem to hate this album. fantastic singing picking and yes emmylou is singing primarily backup like she did in the days of gram parsons or duet ting on this album. probably should have been labeled as Carl Jackson's album but where is the harm done. the music, songs and singing are exceptional. both carl and emmy sound wonderful together like...

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of time
This is as misleading as it gets...surely Emmylou didn't approve her name and picture to be featured so prominently and associated with a project she had little or nothing to do with.

1.0 out of 5 stars RIP OFF!!! DON'T BUY THIS, December 13, 2006
Emmylou sings lead on the first cut- and that's it. Melba Montgomery has more work as the backup singer on the rest of the songs than Ms. Harris does. This will no doubt end up as a lawsuit if it isn't recalled immediately.

1.0 out of 5 stars avoid this collection, November 14, 2006

This collection of songs (Carl Jackson with Emmylou on background) has been issued under several small labels and several titles. Avoid this one. If you must have this then search for one of the many other titles that are cheaper.

1.0 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTMENT and DECEPTION, January 17, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
EmmyLou's promoters have reached a new low. I've been a fan for years and feel used. To even put her name on the label is a disservice to her fans. She appears only a couple of times. The CD would have been fine if I had wanted only her picture, but I expected her to perform. Anyone who buys this for her music should get a full refund and an apology.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Terrible Marketing Ploy, February 20, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am quite disgusted with the record company and Emmylou Harris that this record was allowed to go out under her name. I have every Emmylou album so I think I can be considered a true fan. This may be a good album if you like the music of Carl Jackson.
Basically Emmylou sings back-up on 3 tracks only and all the other tracks feature Carl Jackson and no Emmylou. Hence my disgust at the marketing ploy used. In my country this would constitute a clear breach of both State and Federal Fair Trading Laws. Sadly since I bought through the US I have no recourse to get my money back.
I have played it twice and now it will gather dust in my collection. The only good comment I can make is that it keeps my Emmylou collection complete.
Beware, if you want an Emmylou Harris album this is not for you. If you love Carl Jackson it may suit you. Even with this proviso I find it an insipid album!
I'd have given 0 stars except it wasn't an option.

1.0 out of 5 stars MISLEADING - NOT AN EMMYLOU HARRIS CD, January 6, 2007
If you're looking for music by Emmylou Harris, don't purchase this one. It's a total rip-off. Emmylou does not appear on most of these cuts.

Et Tu Emmy? I am also peeved and annoyed at the Huge lack of Emmy..if this were a food item Emmylou Harris name would be last on the list of ingredients. I gave it one star cause its a nice picture of her on the cover...I feel soooo used!

1.0 out of 5 stars One star is too much, November 14, 2006
More unauthorized dreck from the vaults. Emmylou would say to get one of her real albums instead. I suspect Carl Jackson would agree.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, May 6, 2007

If you're expecting this to be an Emmylou record, and who wouldn't with her face on the cover, you'll be disappointed, as she's only on a couple of the cuts. If you're a fan of Carl Jackson, however, you should enjoy this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deception, August 10, 2007
This piece of junk has appeared before. I bought it ten years ago and was outraged then. Emmylou is no more than an obscure backup singer on all but one track. To call these duets is a lie. To put her picture on the cover is false advertising worthy of the makers of political ads.
And who writes these five star reviews anyway? The owner of the company that is trying to sell this travesty, most likely.
One star because that's as low as it goes. In reality they owe us stars.
