Book Description

Avon Light Contemporary Romances November 5, 2002

Vanessa Tower has never done anything reckless in her life -- then again, she's never met anyone like Christopher "Crash" Dunmoor. The man spends his days jumping out of airplanes, canoeing down raging rivers, doing anything for a thrill -- and prim, proper, studious Vanessa doesn't need that sort of excitement. But the sexy adventurer can ignite sparks in her with just a smile, something Vanessa finds most troubling ... and impossible to ignore.

A confirmed loner with no ties and painful secrets, Crash knows wild is the only way to live. Yet this straightlaced lady he's gotten involved with is turning out to be a bigger turn-on than adrenaline! It's crazy to think he could ever have anything in common with this gorgeous bookworm. So why is his heart telling him that holding her, touching her, and tasting her would be the most tantalizing adventure of all?

About the Author

I grew up in Austin, Texas, and have been writing since the age of four, but did not complete my first "masterpiece" until the age of eleven: a Regency spy thriller version of Orwell's Animal Farm. For some strange reason, this proved to be unmarketable. I began my first romance novel at the age of twelve but noticed after fifty-three handwritten pages that the story didn't seem to have a plot. Many years later, while at Smith College, I began to understand why plot was an important element of a book.

I now live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband and a menagerie of animals. I'd love to hear from my readers at P.O. Box 70185, Marietta, GA 30007-0185, or at kkauthor@aol.com

More About the Author

Award winning author Karen Kendall has always been a creative spirit, fleeing into the fictional world at an early age, emerging only to obtain a Bachelors' degree in something even less practical: Art History. After completing graduate coursework for an MA and working for several small museums and a large commercial art gallery, she realized her dream of being an author, and has since published over twenty novels. She now resides both in South Florida and in her various story worlds. Her husband Don tolerates her imaginary friends -- as long as she socializes with real ones, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars A witty, sensitive read, April 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got You, Babe (Mass Market Paperback)
Okay, I admit it, I'm hooked on Karen Kendall books. I know when I pick up one of her stories I'm going to find entertaining characters, intriguing plots, and outrageous turns of phrase that keep me smiling long after I've turned the last page. In 'I've Got You Babe,' strait-laced art history professor Vanessa Tower finds herself manipulated into teaching the grandson of a famous artist about his grandfather's work. The grandson,"Crash" Dunmoor, has spent much of his life, climbing, kayaking, and parachuting out of planes--anything to avoid the legacy of his grandfather. There's lots of witty fun in this story of two very different people forced to work together. But there's also a great deal of depth and intelligence in the characters, their issues, and the increasing attraction between them. Terrific!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'd take the Crash Test any day..., April 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got You, Babe (Mass Market Paperback)
Karen Kendall's third book packs a wallop. Tightly-laced art historian Vanessa Tower has no idea what she's in for when she approaches tightly-built Crash Dunmoor with what seems like a simple request. But Dr. Tower learns pretty quickly she isn't going to pass this Crash Test without some serious damage to her heart. He's hard, he's tough and he has a well-insulated heart, but Vanessa knows all about the latter because she has one, too.
As usual, Ms. Kendall's writing is clean and clear as she reaches out and grabs the reader's heart and mind. She writes knowledgably about art history and art interpretation, subjects that are over the head of a lot of people (like this reviewer) and makes the subject matter interesting and accessible. And, of course, she delivers one-liners that had me giggling out loud. I'll never be able to look at hens quite the same way....
The bottom line is ... buy this book. You won't be disappointed. And Ms. Kendall, if you ever read this, ... KEEP WRITING!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from author Karen Kendall, April 24, 2003

This review is from: I've Got You, Babe (Mass Market Paperback)
Karen Kendall shines yet again in I'VE GOT YOU BABE. This author knows how to make you laugh out loud while at the same time say awwww over the really sweet and poignant ways her very disparate characters discover themselves and each other.

"Crash" is a hunk to die for, and Vanessa the kind of woman we all wish we could be. Definitely two people (and a book) you don't want to miss.

I'm eagerly anticipating Ms. Kendall's next book.
