5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Cars, Young Love And Yes, The Mob! July 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I got sucked in pretty quickly to this story of fast cars, young love and yes, the mob! If I had to sum it up in just a few words, I would say that it was a bit like `General Hospital goes back to High School' (What? You don't have a guilty pleasure!? Come on, no judgement...). The more I got to know the characters, the more I wanted to know MORE...and I was not disappointed. Although, I have a sneaking suspicion there are still plenty of secrets left to be revealed come book number two.

The romance between John and Anistasia was refreshingly realistic given that they didn't just meet and fall in love a second later. Instead, there was a gradual build up as the two got to know each other and I, the reader, got to know them, giving me all the time we needed to reach that `when-are-they- going-to-get-together-already?!' anxiety I so love to suffer through.

I also appreciated the fact that while there was an underlying sense of violence, it was always more implied than actually depicted in such great detail that it might have seared horrific images into my brain for days to follow. I say some things are better left to the reader's imagination.

Toni Sinns has a remarkable ability as a writer to send the reader on an exciting journey in search of the details that will bring the big picture into full view while only really revealing small fractions of it at a time; all the while still allowing for an easy and enjoyable read that doesn't end up being more work than entertainment.

I for one, am ready to see what Toni has in store for Ani and John in book number two!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Story! May 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed the story line, and liked that the mysteriousness from both Anistasia and John's past came out bit by bit; it definitely gave the story suspense. I liked that John and Anistasia started out as friends, even though a jealous girlfriend was committed to keep them apart, they manage to truly be friends until something else blossoms. Let me say, the cover is pretty awesome; I especially like the car seen in the background. I was excited to learn that there are car races involved as I am a car racing fan so those car racing scenes really interested me. This was just a really great story, and I hope you have the opportunity to read this one because Sinns has a great talent for writing us a pretty good story! :)

3.0 out of 5 stars The Fast and the Furious meets Mean Girls February 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The Fast and the Furious meets Mean Girls in the first book of The Blazing Charm series.

It was clear from the start that Anistasia is a girl with a past and many secrets, and I was intrigued to find out just what her story was. John seemed to be a pretty straight forward character but as the story unfolded, his own secrets came to the surface, revealing that the two have much more in common than their love for fast cars and racing.

This book had plenty of potential, with an exciting plot, but I felt there were a few grammatical issues that stopped me from really connecting with the characters and story enough to enjoy it all the way through. I didn't quite feel the chemistry between John and Anistasia until half way through and I was a little surprised by some of the decisions the MCs made, especially Anistasia.
It was nice to see a confident female MC, because all too often in highschool based stories the girl feels she is not good enough for the guy. Whether it was due to her past or just the way she is, Anistasia held her own and never once backed down, even when it came to racing John.

Overall, I was expecting more from this story, but it was a quick, fun read either way.

3.0 out of 5 stars I've Got You Covered August 18, 2012
The story of Anistasia and John is a normal teenage romance ... well, not really. Toni G Sinns has crafted a unique adventure romance in I've Got You Covered.

Ani, as she is called throughout the story, has a secret. She is a teenager on the run. With no parents in the picture and only her older alcoholic brother to watch over her, whenever a `situation' arises they run. But what from?

John is a rebellious teenage boy who talks back to his teachers, doesn't do homework, and doesn't care for too many people in this world. He'd rather work on his cars and run an illegal racing circuit than go to school. He too has a secret.

What happens when Ani and John meet? At first nothing, but both feel something special about the other. Even though John has a `girlfriend' he still would rather hang out with Ani. And when she finds out he is a racer, something she is interested in also, they just click. But there is much more to their story ...

I've Got You Covered chronicles the beginning of their relationship and eventually uncovers both of their secrets. You're not going to believe what they are. Not one to be a spoiler, I will let you, the reader, find out for yourself how this book turns out.
