Everything Dick Dale would like to be, and MORE! This thing rips. I listen to it when I'm shredding on my board... it gets me totally pumped.

This is the greatest CD I have ever heard! So much better than the sickning sweet pop that dominates the airwaves!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's wild, I'm not sure of the genre; rockabilly w/ballz?, September 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got The Cure (Audio CD)
It does rock, and it's weird, hard to describe. Even the gospel-sounding ballad All Cried Out has a line in it where John threatens to blow his brains out with a 44 Magnum. Wild. The guitar instrumentals have the same kind of dark psycho edge. Some of the other reviews hit the mark, but some ot this stuff is a trip that you really must take for yourself. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like Psychobilly/Surf. Play it LOUD!! It Kicks butt!!, August 23, 1999

I loved "Savage." It's like the Ventures on Meth! "Doctor Brown" also rocked. They have a ballsy Psychobilly sound, with just a little bit of twang to make your mouth water! Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Album!, August 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got The Cure (Audio CD)
I remember John when he was with Link Wrays band. The Raymen put on a great show as did the Fender Benders. I was a regular at the 1023 night club in Washington DC in the mid 60's. It's really great to see that some of these guys are still around because they are truly a one of a kind band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rock And Roll, July 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got The Cure (Audio CD)
I recently bought this album since I am a Link Wray fan. John Van Horn does a hell of a job singing and he and his son work very well together on the guitars. I recomend this CD to anyone who loves good old Rock&Roll! The music is "GREAT"! I cant wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best butt-kickin' rock guitars I've heard in many years, May 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got The Cure (Audio CD)
I am an avid Robert Gordon/Link Wray fan. I saw these guys playing with Link Wray, in Washington, DC in the early eighties. Letterman's drummer who plays on this cd, was with them then. The abandon I saw when they were with Link is clear and present in this cd, but they have also shown that they can really yank on the heartstrings with cool balads like 'All Cried Out' and 'Love Me.' When I want guitars, guitars, and more screaming, singing, sweet-tone guitars, I turn it up real loud when I play 'Savage' or 'Doctor Brown!' This is true Rock n' Roll that is so rare to find these days, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are a Link Wray Fan!, May 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I've Got The Cure (Audio CD)
I just bought this CD and it's really great! John is still as good as ever and plays his guitar as the hot artist he is. If you get into real rock stuff then dont miss this one! I saw John play with Mick Fleetwood and Anton Fig together on stage and it was really cool. Good luck John on this CD and we hope you will do another one soon!
