If you are hankering after a slab of SRV / HENDRIX drenched BLUES, look no further. At times it sounds a bit familiar, but you quickly get past that. JAY JESSE channels the masters as well as anyone and the songs pay respectful homage to the greats, while standing on their own. A great vocalist and an awesome collection of songs as well as the superb guitar work throughout make this a NO BRAINER for any GUITAR / BLUES fan.
Can't wait to hear more from this man.

Jay Johnson is a world-class guitarist. The core playing seems to be rooted in Hendrix-type blues, but Jay throws in elements of Delta blues, funk, shred metal, and everything in between to make it almost non-classifiable. Just one listen to "Sittin by the Riverside" would be enough to convince anyone of his ability - the opening solo is as technical as an Yngwie solo (don't worry - it's not as over the top as Yngwie) and at the same time it is as melodic and memorable as something from Gary Moore. You can't go wrong with this for a slightly heavy, melodic, guitar-centric disc that has plenty of good songs and immaculate lead and rhythm playing.

This cd along with Strange Imagination are great examples of some bonafied blues rock.classic blues rock played hard. The title song even sounds like it could be on an AC/DC album. But most of the cd is very bluesy.Solid pick you cant go wrong with JJJ.Fans of Wes Jeans,Eric Gales,Jimmy D Lane,KWS take note.
