5.0 out of 5 stars With gratitude to Dr. Nathaniel Tindel............
It is with deep gratitude to Dr. Nathaniel Tindel that I take the time to write this review. Since my back trouble had remained dormant for a few years.........my hope was to not have immediate reason to read the book - but, alas.....about a week ago the back trouble reared it's ugly head again!

I found the book to be very informative and helpful. Dr...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good information, but not for everybody.
I loved the book, but I'm a chiropractic student and am into this style reading. Most people I know would simply not enjoy this book because of it dry content. Great information, but I fear most interested in this type of reading are dealing with disc herniations or stenosis symptoms and are likely going to have surgery. Great proponent for conservative management...

Dr. Tindel has the unique ability to clearly describe important aspects of back-pain, alternative treatments prior to considering surgery, and the proper direction to take. He does this in 'lay-persons' language without talking down to the patient. Reading the book was helpful in discerning that I was taking the right path in my own healing process as well as giving me the language needed to describe the sort of pain I was having (acute radicular pain); where it radiated from; as well as re-emphasizing the core importance of exercise and healthy diet in the healing process (and in life in general!).

All this in an easy to read, fun, writing style that made the book a quick read!

"I've Got Your Back" is a book to keep in your own personal library for quick reference as well as one to share with friends and loved ones.

I found this book to be informative and well written. I especially liked the advice to do anything and everything possible other than surgery before considering surgery. This book will help you be proactive in your own back care.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surgery for back pain, April 6, 2009
I have herniated disc L5-S1 above 1 cm and mild spinal stenosis. I wanted to know whether I should go
for a surgery or not. My pain level is 5-6. This book really helped me to figure out whether surgery is needed
or not. Really good one

A very clear and understandable book about a very difficult and often confusing medical problem.
I have been suffering from muscular sketal pain orinating in my lower spine for 20+ years and this book gave me a lot of new information and hope that one day something may be able to be done.

5.0 out of 5 stars gave me a whole new outlook on life with an back problem, August 11, 2010

Thanks to this book I decided to go with the option of exercise over surgery. My 7th vertebra disc is completely gone. I am a fitness instructor and did not want or have the time for recovery from surgery.

Read this book and get your muscles strong. I am not a zumba, aqacise, and pilates instructor at a fitness center.

Don't give up, read the book, do the work.

5.0 out of 5 stars best back book i've read, September 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've read a number of back books and this is by far the very best! It has helped us decide against risky surgery for our Mother and the other treatments it suggest are working and she is feeling much better. I'm recommending it to anyone with back problems. It's very informative and easy to understand. Finally a guide for everyone!! 5 stars!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good information, but not for everybody., March 30, 2010

I loved the book, but I'm a chiropractic student and am into this style reading. Most people I know would simply not enjoy this book because of it dry content. Great information, but I fear most interested in this type of reading are dealing with disc herniations or stenosis symptoms and are likely going to have surgery. Great proponent for conservative management first and progressing toward more invasive treatments. Bottom line is research suggests surgery has better outcomes for the first 2 - 4 years, but after that, symptomatically, there is no difference whether you had surgery or not.
If you can manage the pain treat it conservatively, if not, see if you are a candidate for surgery. I wish more doctors thought like this.
