The Perfect Christmas Story for 3 year olds!,
By Danielle M. Smith "The1stdaughter" (San Luis Obispo, CA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: I've Seen Santa! (Paperback)
The Turkeybird Speaks (My 3 year old son):
"Santa! Santa! This is such a good book! I can't wait to finally stay up to see Santa this year and every night until Christmas I will be requesting this book just to get ready for that night. I've already asked mom if we can set out milk and pies. And I have my flashlight ready, but unlike Little Bear, I'm not going to fall asleep before I see Santa." Mom's Two Cents: "The Turkeybird absolutely loves this book and every night for the last two weeks he's asked for it by name. Because he will only be 3 this next year this will be his first Christmas where actually "gets" the idea of Christmas. It's wonderful because this book has playfully described the excitement of that great night and its magical guest. I know I'm now more excited just to see the Turkeybird's expression when he sees the magic of Santa for the "first" time."

4 year old loves it,
This review is from: I've Seen Santa! (Paperback)
I just HAD to review this book after seeing the 1 star review above me. I do agree with the other reviewer however, the book does seem like it's going to be a "close call" until the last page. I'm sure some readers will be nervous having too wait that long, but we took the last page of the book and changed the entire mood of the story around. My son LOVES reading it now; he gets more and more excited as little bear keeps "missing" Santa and then screams with excitement at the end when Santa does appear as the bears are sleeping. He talks over and over again about how "sneaky" Santa is, and how he really does know when you are asleep and will only bring your presents then (it hasn't COMPLETELY tamed his ideas, though, he still does talk aobut trying to stay up and hide better than the bears did to see Santa). In a way it's really reinforced "our" tradition of Santa and Christmas Eve. The illustrations are adorable and I just wanted to leave a different review for a very cute book.

Our almost 3-yr olds love it!,
By Emma (CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I've Seen Santa! (Paperback)
This is a book our almost 3-yr olds request every night these days. Our boys laugh with excitement when we read the text and use different voices for the different bears. They don't seem to get tired of it as they do of other books. The illustrations are adorable, with very expressive faces, and the text is just the right length.
Another reviewer commented that the book was too "close to comfort" in respect to seeing Santa. Since I pre-read the book, I knew it was ok: the last page gives the right ending. Here is a brief synopsis: The story is about Little Bear who worries if Santa will manage to come since he visits bears all over the world. He also worries that Santa might get stuck in the chimney, and so he finally decides to see for himself. He even convinces his dad to wait with him to see Santa. Eventually Mommy Bear joins them too - but they fall asleep and never get to see Santa, even though Santa does come and see them. Definitely recommended.

Too close for comfort,

The illustrations are great, but I was very nervous reading this to my 5 year old. I wasn't sure where the story was going to go. Too close for comfort is my summary.
