This product's formulation is much the same as the body lotion product of the same name. The texture differs, though. This is richer, yet lighter. The lotion contains silicone, which isn't a bad thing. It's good because it helps retain moisture and protect skin. But it takes a long time to absorb.
This hand cream absorbs pretty quickly, and for a product in this price range has unexpectedly fine ingredients. It includes several anti-oxidant ingredients, and both mineral and plant-based moisturizers: petrolatum, glycerin, and grape, mango, and cranberry seed oils, plus shea and cocoa butter. It has no added fragrance, not even a masking fragrance. I keep it at my desk at work, and apply it after washing my hands.
And it does not gunk up my keyboard. Sometimes the best things in life are - well, not free - but really cheap!

A little goes a long way with this product. I am using it as a hand cream and couldn't be happier. Heals even the driest skin. It has a nice consistency and absorbs easily as long as you don't use too much. Hours of moisture and improved skin appearance and texture are the reward for continued use. The absence of fragrance is great for avoiding a clash with perfumes or colognes. Also a plus is that the product is 100% natural and there are the NO parabens or pthalates. The container is surprisingly larger than expected and the price was so low I bought a second one for my sister. This should last for many, many months to come.

I usually go for scented lotions because I love the way they smell, but this is a great alternative if you have any allergies because there is no smell at all. I think that this lotion can be used on the face, but I've never tried to use it on my face. My hands have a tendency to get really dry sometimes and I tried this lotion to see if it would improve my hands. I usually hate wearing lotion because of the heavy feeling you get on your skin when you put it on, but this lotion is really light, so I'm comfortable with slathering it on. I think it works pretty well- my skin usually reverts to its former smoothness after a couple days- I like to put it on once a day at night right before going to sleep.

I bought this cream first at a discount store and never could find it again. It is wonderful in every way, thick but not sticky, and does not damage clothes. I can put it on, wait a few minutes, and my skin feels immediately renourished. I have other St. Ives products, all nice, but the pump applicators are a pain, and it's impossible to get the last 1/4 of the contents. This tube is a much better delivery system.
