5.0 out of 5 stars Effective and convenient, but the Ivy Dry cream works better.
Ivy Dry cream is the most effective over-the-counter treatment I've every tried for contact dermatitis (poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, etc.) - and I've tried quite a few!: Bendryl spray, Calamine lotion, Cortizone 10, Ivy Dry, Caladryl Clear, Aveeno anti-itch lotion, Tea Tree gel, Aloe Vera Supergel, Calagel - Boudreaux's Butt Paste, even. 2.0 out of 5 stars Ivy Dry with zytrel-Disappointing
A friend of mine recommended this product to "cure" poison ivy, it did not work for that. It also has a very strange smell. I do not recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective and convenient, but the Ivy Dry cream works better., April 6, 2009
This review is from: Ivy-Dry Super Itch Relief Spray, 6 oz. (Health and Beauty)
Ivy Dry cream is the most effective over-the-counter treatment I've every tried for contact dermatitis (poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, etc.) - and I've tried quite a few!: Bendryl spray, Calamine lotion, Cortizone 10, Ivy Dry, Caladryl Clear, Aveeno anti-itch lotion, Tea Tree gel, Aloe Vera Supergel, Calagel - Boudreaux's Butt Paste, even. (And this list only includes the items *currently* sitting in my medicine cabinet.)

During the spring, summer and fall months, I practically live outside. Since I'm cursed with ridiculously sensitive skin, this means I'm usually sporting a rash or monster bug bite most of the year. So far, Ivy Dry is the only cream that has managed to significantly alleviate the itching, burning and (occasional) pain associated with contact dermatitis and insect bites. It's hard to tell for certain, but it may also speed up healing time. I usually use Ivy Dry in conjunction with Neosporin (or a similar generic), for good measure, so it's hard to say for sure.

Ivy Dry also comes in a spray form; while the spray is a little more convenient, especially when you're in a hurry, I don't think it's as effective as the cream. Even so, it's still preferable to most of the other creams and sprays currently available. It's quick and easy to apply, and not as sticky as some of the other anti-itch sprays I've tried (e.g., Bendryl Spray).

Stock your medicine cabinet with both the Ivy Dry cream and spray, and you'll be all set for the coming summer season!

I had purchased this product when I had a bad reaction to some mosquito bites. As soon as I received it I sprayed it on and within 2 minutes the itching was gone and the swelling went down. This product is well worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars best way to treat poison-ivy rash, September 6, 2008

This review is from: Ivy-Dry Super Itch Relief Spray, 6 oz. (Health and Beauty)
I have a moderate-to-severe poison ivy allergy, and of the various OTC remedies I've tried, this liquid (applied like a skin-toner with a cotton ball) is the only thing that effectively and briskly treats a bad rash, or keeps a minor rash from getting more inflamed. Unlike creams, it doesn't get on everything, and is cheaper than most prescription remedies.

It is very drying, however, and hard on the skin.

Highly recommended for anybody that gets allergen-induced skin rashes. Get some and keep it for when you need it!
