Good airbrush for shade painting, background spraying.. but not for detail. Unfortunately, have a little overspray.

This is the best gun out there. A friend of mine purchased a "similar" one for $50 on another site and when it was delivered it was not even close to the quality of this one. It costs a little more than some but can be used daily without an problems. I poor a little water into the gun and blow it out after each use for a short term cleaning. Once a week I input a cleaner into the gun and blow it out to really clean out any gunk that may be hidding inside the needles.
Most importantly, I would purchase the recommended brushes to clean. DO NOT USE TOWELS OR PAPER PRODUCTS TO CLEAN. The tiny fibers will come off and can clog the needle. You can't get them out and will have to replace your needles.
Definitely recommend this product!!!

Nice quality construction. It creates a very controlled and even pattern. I was disappointed that I couldn't spray lines as fine as I would have liked. There was some explanation in the instructions about taking off the head of it to spray finer lines but that didn't work.

Before this I had one of those cheaper chinese ones (master airbrush) as my first airbrush. Let me say it wasn't a good experience. It did not spray the paint smoothly and it clogged up constantly. It then broke after about a dozen uses (needle cover literally cracked off when I was gently screwing it on and left its threads stuck in the body).

I was so annoyed with myself. I normally always shop with quality in mind above all else, but based on good reviews I decided I would go with a cheaper one to see if I would like it. Lots of people say "get a cheap airbrush and a nice compressor"... don't listen to it. Yes the compressor is important, but you can DEFINITELY tell the difference between a cheap airbrush and nice one.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this Iwata because I had only ever used the other airbrush and had nothing to compare it with. I must say I was blown away (hur hur) by how much better it performed than the master airbrush.

1. It creates a super fine and even mist of paint.
2. The fit and finish is superb and it feels like a solid tool in the hand.
3. It is very easy to clean.
4. The needle tip is protected, but not unnecessary covered, so paint doesn't build up on the inside of the head assembly.
5. Excellent level of control. Without adjustment you can instantly switch between 'light thin lines' and 'paint-cup-emptied-in-seconds'!

It has restored my faith in airbrushing. Now to just save some money and buy an Iwata compressor... because I'm really impressed with the brand.

I've been using this airbrush for around 6 months now on woodturnings doing everything from shading bowls to fine detail like flames and flags on pens with good success. Some ladies from work stopped by and I did a French manicure on their nails with it. They tried it themselves and were so happy they went and got their own setup.
