Product Description

A joint release between Psychonavigation and Canadian label Upstairs Recordings. Seattle based producer Gel-Sol presents his 2008 album entitled IZ, and in his own words `Is an all-ambient adventure I wrote for my niece Izabella, who was born early last year'. Gel-Sol aka Andrew Reichel, whose dichotomous sound spans from ambient soundscapes to complex, rhythmic electronica, creating a dynamic psychedelic universe with heavy emphasis on improvisation. His influences range from '70s prog and kraut rock to Electronic and Psychedelic. The album's music showcases Gel-sol's trademark melodic edge combined with sweeping Synth pads reminiscent of 90's ambient albums from the likes of Pete Namlook & Global Communication.

I'm hoping to heaer more from Gel-Sol as the 2 CDs I own by him are simply amazing. It's hard to find solid CDs like this in today's day and age of the crowded "electronica" scene. I've played this CD over and over from start to finish without skipping any tracks. This is a great CD for late night listening or even starting off the day with a nice sunrise. The future of music starts here..................

One of the best ambient albums I've heard in a long time.

All the tracks are excellent, such as Secret Island and Orca but IZ and Raneboze are both masterpieces.

IZ is epic with a capital E and Raneboze feels like it was made by aliens who attempt to communicate with humans by creating something they think would make us feel good but because they don't understand humans inadvertently the opposite desired effect was achieved.

Mindbending and captivating music.

Our buddy Gel Sol has done it again! Hes gone and created an album to tickle your sonic ear bones and send us off to wonderland. Just plain fun is all your gonna have listening to this album. If thats your goal in life then dive in folks. We highly recommend headphones or a hi-fi system and a few shrooms to attain the desired effects...
