This is a handy device for the money. Pros are: low price point, small size, simple setup, great battery life, and easy to use. Cons are: can only download 10 courses (I thought you could download an unlimited number of courses at any time and then upload 10 to the device as needed).

Overall I enjoy using the device. Sometimes the yardages can be off by 8-10 yards based on course markers or other GPS unit readings, but I'm not completely sure it is the Swami's readings that are inaccurate. The unit is very easy to use, just turn it on when you get to the course (course must be downloaded beforehand), let it sync up with the satellites for about 90 seconds, then select the hole number you are starting from and go.

You may want to nix the bundle offer though and save the $20-$30. I'm not sure the car charger actually works since the unit requires the swami software to be running when charging from a PC USB interface. The carrying case is a generic digital camera case and the lens protectors can be purchased at any electronics store.

I bought this item for my father for christmas. he is a avid Golfer. after reviewing the more costly ones like callaway. This one seemed to have better ratings and a better yearly charge.
My dad is very happy with this. his friend has a callaway one and he says his works much better. His golf game has improved and he said he loves this! best present i have ever bought him.

I PURCHASED THE SWAMI BECAUSE I DO NOT PLAY WELL ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT DISTANCE TO BUNKERS OR SAND TRAPS. ALL I NEEDED WAS THE YARDAGE TO THE CENTER, BACK AND FRONT OF THE GREEN AND THE SWAMI DOES THAT WITH NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE FOUND THE YARDAGE TO BE AS ACURATE AS I NEED IT TO BE. I PLAY WITH GUYS WHO HAVE TO MORE EXPANSIVE GPS SYSTEMS AND THE SWAMI YARDAGE IS RIGHT WITH THEIRS. THE COST IS TO USE IT IS FANTASTIC TO, $9.95 A YEAR, 10 COURSE STORAGE, AND CHANGE THE COURSES ANY TIME YOU WANT BY JUST PLUGGING IN TO THE COMPUTER. SETUP WAS EASY AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE COURSE IS TURN IT ON. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SWAMI TO ANYONE WHO WOULD WANT THE YARDAGE TEE TO GREEN FOR A GOOD PRICE.

I have used this product numerous time since I purchased it and I have no complaints. It is easy to log on to the website and load golf courses, and for a $9.99 per year subscription price it is the most inexspensive I have found. You can buy a golf gps with more bells and whistles, but if all you need is distance to front, center and back of green this a good one for the price.

So far I have only received the basic Swami not the bundle items, but I am delighted regardless. The Swami is much easier to read than our Sky Caddy SG 4 and settles on distances faster than our Sky Caddy. We like it much better. Even the belt clip is better designed. So I get the Sky Caddy and Wendy gets the Swami, because the display is much easier to read.

My husband and I found this product to be very easy to use. As senior citizens who aren't technology oriented, we found the Swami to be very technology friendly. Our best friend has one and told us about it and we agree with his views. The price was right and it suits our needs.

My computer is a MAC. Past experience led me to contact IZZO and I found out that they do not support MAC. This isn't mentioned in the write up

It's what I expected......a , the ch arge lasts for to 18 hole rounds plus good value! simple to use.

This GPS unit is fine giving distance to the center of any green. Accurate. Does not tell you Front, back, and center on same screen, you have to push the fcb button and this takes time to cycle through to get BACK and FRONT distance. My playing partners sometimes look impatient as I cycle through the distances. Does not give any hazard distances. For the price it gives good distance to green data. If you use a wall charger, there is no indication that the unit is charging. My Optics lens is kind of wavy but I can see the numbers just fine. Good basic distance to green though.
