Resting atop slip-resistant rubber feet and constructed of solid red oak; this countertop item offers a trio of 1-inch slots for smaller scale blades, and then progresses through five slots of increasingly larger size for the rest of the cutlery collection. The top left-hand corner features a 1/2-inch square slot specifically designed to hold a sharpening steel while kitchen shears fit comfortably in a larger square up front. This is an attractive well made block with a relatively small footprint. Now for a few corrections. The block is made of beechwood, not oak. Also, there are two 7/8" slots, four 1-3/8" slots, two 2" slots and a 1-1/2" slot shared with the steel slot. It will accomodate up to 11" knives/steel as well as kitchen shears.

Great wood block for my knifes. Even has a hole of the scissors in my kitchen. Well worth the money.
