Great blades, weak handles,
This review is from: J.A. Henckels International Kitchen Shears (Kitchen)
We have had these scissors for a couple of years. The blades have stayed sharp, but a crack that soon developed in one handle finally broke all the way through today, leaving them useless. We never used them to do messy chores because the blades do not separate (The Fiskars scissors get used then). We will buy a different type next time.

These baby's cut like a warm knife through butter. This pair replaced a pair we had for 10 yrs. I've used them on some pretty tough plastic and there was absolutely no effort to get the shears to cut. The construction seems to be solid and the handle part is extra thick compared to our old pair. So far i havent had anything this set of shears wont cut through.

sharp scissor,

This scissor is great. It is sharp and stays sharp. I have 3 of them. One I use for general use. One is for my knitting and crocheting. The third one is for the kitchen. It will cut through small fish bones and chicken ribs. I use it for cutting up vegetables and meat (a lot easier than a knife will). The scissors I got from Wal-Mart looked good, but were sprung. The plastic handled scissors from Wal-Mart are junk compared to this one. It costs twice as much as the cheap scissors, but it is worth a lot more too.

I use these scissors for everything when I'm cooking. I love using them to cut into raw chicken (even though the bone on chicken breasts) to make pieces smaller. The scissors are great for making chopped salads; just "cut" the lettuce and vegetables in the bowl to get a chopped salad. They are easy to wash and dry but I also place them in the dishwasher. I highly recommend these for all uses in the kitchen.

These are great, heavy-duty kitchen utility scissors. So good, my previous pair disappeared under suspicious conditions by small hands for kid projects. They feel just right in the hand, and I haven't found anything yet they wont cut easily.

Our last pair of J.A. Henckels International Kitchen Shears delivered more than a decade of great service before the handle cracked. We retired that pair and purchased another for less than $16 from Amazon without blinking an eye. These shears cut through bones, ribs, cardboard boxes and everything else we needed in the kitchen.
At the time we replaced the shears, the steel blades were still sharp and the serrated metal handle insert was in perfect working order. I assume the reason the shears lasted so long is that we didn't put them in the dishwasher as per the manufacturer's recommendation. We used a child's toothbrush to clean the hard-to-reach areas between the blades. In summary, you can spend more on a pair of kitchen shears but why would you want to when you can get years of great service from J.A. Henckels International Kitchen Shears. Rating: five stars.

Versatile in kitchen and garden,

We've had these shears for two years and notwithstanding punishing use in the garden and kitchen, they have stood up and retained their sharpness. They are very versatile, good for cutting almost anything from herbs, to chicken bones, to garden hoses, to paper, to cardboard. We just bought a second pair to avoid the "Are the shears inside or out?" syndrone. They have not rusted even though they are frequently used wet.

These shears are excellent. But beware..... they are extremely sharp! I accidentally sliced my thumb open while cleaning the shears and barely felt anything... they are THAT sharp. Great product~

I am pleased with these shears in every way. In addition to their use in the kitchen, they are great for opening those tightly sealed, plastic clamshell packages.

I love kitchen shears, and my last pair died. I bought these because the brand is well known. They cut everything just fine, but they do not come apart for washing like the other pairs I have owned. Sad.
