4.0 out of 5 stars J. Lo's Awesome
Hey,
I think J. Lo is the one of the coolest singers out there. Her voice may not match up to Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige but she herself is cool. I'm a guy who listens to J. Lo and think that she's really good my friends don't like her and tease me a bit about it, but when she comes to my city i'm going to her concert. My fave songs on her album are "I'm...

This is sort of a hate and love situation with "J.LO." Back in 99 when her first single came out I scoffed at the idea of actress turned singer and immediately rode her off, but once Waiting For Tonight hit airwaves I was instantly impressed. Then comes her sophmore release and once again I find myself hating the first single, Love Don't Cost A Thing, but the...

Lo and think that she's really good my friends don't like her and tease me a bit about it, but when she comes to my city i'm going to her concert. My fave songs on her album are "I'm Real," "Ain't That Funny," and "Play." These are all quality songs. I especially like the songs she does with Ja Rule, I think their voices go together very nicely. I just wish she would keep the explicatives down to a minimum so I wouldn't have to buy her CDs edited.
Well thats all,

A Kid's Review
This review is from: J. Lo [Clean Version] (Audio CD)
This is the first album from Jennifer Lopez that I have bought, and I LOVE it! My favorite tracks on this album are Love Don't Cost A Thing, Play, I'm Real, and Ain't It Funny. I also like I'm Gonna be Alright, even though the remix is way better. I just wish she would keep her explicatives down a little so I wouldn't have to buy the edited version.....Take note, Jennifer! ;)

This is sort of a hate and love situation with "J.LO." Back in 99 when her first single came out I scoffed at the idea of actress turned singer and immediately rode her off, but once Waiting For Tonight hit airwaves I was instantly impressed. Then comes her sophmore release and once again I find myself hating the first single, Love Don't Cost A Thing, but the second I heard Play come on the radio I turned up the volume key and just moved with the groove. I've grown tired of it already (which is the major problem with pop and me) but I can't seem to get enough of Walking On Sunshine and the spanish dance funkish Aint It Funny and Dame (Touch Me.) I also enjoy the r&b spiced Dance With Me, and the slow ballad, That's Not Me. But I must declare how much I deteste and spit at I'm Real - especially the remix version with Ja Rule... Ugh!!! Overall, though, this is fairly enjoyable and worth a listen or two. Definitely nothing special, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jennifer is keeping it real., August 14, 2001

I love the remix! It's got a cool slow vibe, and I like Ja Rule's singing. Jennifer and Ja Rule made one heck of a collaboration. The way they sing, the way the music flows and so on, cause it's real! AND I CAN'T GO ON WITHOUT THIS SONG!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great party CD, November 2, 2002
By A Customer

but if you're looking for anything beyond that then skip this CD. She has absolutely no singing talent, and it's lyrically horrible. They've done a great job selling her, just look at her album sales, but she'll never be taken seriously as a female songstress.

I'm hoping for a more mature album next time, both lyrically and vocally, although I'm not holding my breath.
