One of the funniest books I have ever seen., August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
J Crewd, by Justin Racz is, without a doubt, one of the funniest books I have ever laid eyes on. Every detail is intentional, each time I look at it I find something new, and HILARIOUS. It doesn't just poke fun at a the catalog, but at the entire fashion industry. I gave it to some friends as a gift, and they all loved it too. This book is GREAT!

Pure Unadulterated Genius, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
A literary masterpiece has been bestowed upon us and it's purveyor is Justin Racz. This tearful, joyous, gripping satirical examination of society's infatuation, nay addiction to catalogue shopping is an insightful, sociological commentary on our cultural trend towards an isolationist existence. I say bravo Mr. Racz on this risqué, cutting edge exposé serving as your first venture into the kingdom of authorship. The concrete walls that have imprisoned the literary community in the dark cell of imperturbable depravity come crumbling down with the passionate prose that flow effortlessly from the "stylo" of Racz. The precedent has been set and the bar has been raised. Mr. Racz comes roaring into the printed medium with a fury we have not seen since King or Grisham. The only comparable feat will be topping this tour-de-force in his next installment.

Very funny...and enviable!, May 4, 2001
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
This psuedo-catalog is a riot! As a fan of the real J.Crew brand, I thoroughly enjoyed Racz's poke at the pretention and absurdity of American trends. Well done! Coffee tables all over the globe will envy this one.

Pure good times, October 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
I left this book lying around my desk at work. Now the office is rife with J. Crewd allusions all day long. I think I might try to get one of my co-workers the Tommy Hillbillyfiger beater for the Holidays. No Christmas stocking should be without J. Crewd.

Wicked fun!, October 11, 1998

This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
Sexy, shocking, frankly at times even a bit vulgar. In other words I loved it. All the details you missed the first time around are packed with silly fun.

A must read and a great gift, September 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
I read an advance copy -- it's hysterical. The perfect gift for anyone -- especially the hopelessly trendy caught up in the order-by-mail culture. The parody features the Unabomber jacket (in green beret, black panther, and Khmer rouge), the nine-in-one, and the roll-head (recommended by four out of five people with zits). Send one to a friend in the mail.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy. I haven't stopped laughing since. Anyone who shops from catalogs will love getting this parody. Especially if they receive it in the mail.

The best piece of political satire I've seen in the 90's., November 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: J. Crewd (Paperback)
It is rare these days to find political satire so on the mark that it leaves you gasping for breath after you've spent the first ten minutes laughing. Political satire is rare these days, and most of it is not very good. This is brilliant. From the first page to the last, from the Ted Kaczinsky bomber jacket to the J. Cloning baby farm (perhaps the best item in the whole "catalog"), this little booklet is the most outrageous and humorous look at social life since "Beyond the Fringe" satirized life in Britain during the early 1960's. It is a find, and it's going out to several of my friends as presents this holiday season.
