A punk classic!,

I have been listening to this cd fairly regularly since it first came out in '95, almost 14 years ago! It never gets old. This cd is also a little over an hour long which is extremely rare for a punk album. It's definitely a unique sounding punk album (in a good way) with a lot of good punk, covers, and a great bonus track at the end, hehe. Listen to the samples and if you like what you hear at all then you should buy this cd. Would give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could!

A worthwhile purchase,

I picked this album up off of a suggestion from a friend, and I must say that it is a better punk album than i've listened to for a while. If you're more a traditional punk fan, you'll probably be a bit dissapointed with the CD. However, that's what made it great for me, was the fact that it wasn't a traditional punk album. Although some of the songs' core riffs seem lifted from Minor Threat/Fugazi, the band puts their own swing onto the rest of the song. Besides, how many punk bands can actually say that they've never reused chord progressions? The Wynona Riders have made a proficient CD that is a very enjoyable listen. It strays from punk sometimes, but that shows orginality to me, especially the way they mix it in. If you can find the CD, I suggest picking it up.

Aw Yea!,

Wow! What do you get when you mix equal parts Green Day brand enthusiasism and pop sensibility, with Descendent's-like musical complexity and deconstruction of the worlds of both "alternative" and punk rock? You get this record. This record is packed with great songs and gems like their brilliant cover of the Power Rangers' theme song that remind me of the Dickies. This is not your typical Lookout Records three chord punk rock, by the numbers outing. This is a real album that's obviously planned and well thought out. Songs like "Rescue", "Pack Rat", "Childhood Game" and "Dylan" just make me keep putting this one back in my CD player. Why didn't these guys get huge? I predict that this record will, like great underappreciated-in-their-time bands such as the Velvet Underground and Wire, inspire dozens of other bands to take up the punk rock cause and not fear injecting humor into their work. Damn fine record.
