Well heck, I bought this thinking it was the actual paperback book. Read it. Finished it quicker than an owl than can clutch a pack rat on the swoop! Then I realized: I was tipped off about the plot, symbolism, etc. but it wasn't the real Catcher in the Rye book I was a readin'!. Nope! Some kind of summary notes*...for busy college kids at the kegger I recon. I feel like I need to experience Mr. Salinger's prose as he intended - if I could only find a copy of his book - ...

* Doh! I got the Monarch Notes instead of the actual CITR book. My bad. But only because I am visualy disabled and not able to read small print quickly... :(

Just reread it after many years and loved it just as much as the first time. Salinger's character Holden has influenced so many other writers. I just read Segedy's Hampton Road and can see a resemblance in his main character to Holden. And this book was published 60 years later. I can see why Catcher still sells nearly 250,000 copies a year.

The book "Catcher in the Rye" was in excellent condition but the shipping took way over what was anticipated to arrive. My daughter needed the book at least 3 days sooner. I was very disappointed in the estimated shipping as well as the fact that I could not track the process of the shipment.
