Low quality. Not worth it to buy. Collapses with not much pressure. It will not keep your window closed.

My daughter has an apartment in NYC with two windows, one has a fire escape. This security bar adjusts very easily and, when in place, the windows cannot be opened from the outside. They are easy to remove from the inside, in case of an emergency, if she does need to get to the fire escape. They are not unsightly at all.
I ordered two bars and one was defective. I called and explained the problem, and I promptly received a replacement, no extra charge; excellent customer service.
I definitely recommend this product for extra security.

The internal plastic twist lock mechanism is very weak and takes only a small amount pressure to retract it. I ended up drilling a hole through the tube and using a removable push pin to keep it secure.
